The Yankees recalled Marinaccio from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, YES Network reports. The Yankees DFA'd Josh Maciejewski on Saturday to create room on the 40-man roster for Kevin Smith, so Marinaccio will come up to as Maciejewski's replacement in the bullpen. The 28-year-old righty logged a 3.99 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 47.1 innings last season in the majors, and he has yet to allow a run through five Triple-A frames this year.... See More ... See Less

Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Sent to Triple-A
The Yankees optioned Marinaccio to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Marinaccio surrendered seven runs with a 6:7 K:BB over 7.1 innings during spring training and won't make the Opening Day roster. He had a 3.99 ERA in 45 outings for the Yankees last season and is likely to receive another look at some point in 2024.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Sent back to minors
Marinaccio was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. Marinaccio tossed a scoreless innings against the Brewers on Saturday but needed 32 pitches to do so. The Yankees will announce a corresponding move prior to Sunday's contest, and it seems likely to involve a reliever.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Recalled from Triple-A
Marinaccio was called up by the Yankees on Saturday. Marinaccio owns a 4.08 ERA in 46.1 major-league innings this season, with a 27.6 percent strikeout rate more or less canceling out an inflated 12.6 percent walk rate. He'll give the Yankees an extra bullpen option, taking the roster spot that had belonged to Luis Severino, who landed on the injured list with a side injury.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Making spring debut Thursday
Marinaccio (shin) will make his Grapefruit League debut Thursday against the Red Sox, Erik Boland of Newsday reports. The Yankees are bringing along Marinaccio slowly this spring, as Boland notes, as he's coming off a stress reaction in his right shin that caused him to miss the end of the 2022 season as well as the postseason. The right-hander was one of the team's best relievers when healthy with a 2.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 56 strikeouts over 44 innings of work. Assuming good health, he'll pitch in the middle innings for New York again in 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Faces live hitters
Marinaccio (shin) faced Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Rizzo on Monday during his second live batting practice session of spring training, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. The right-hander was sidelined late in the 2022 season due to a stress reaction in his right shin and wasn't able to pitch during the Yankees' postseason run, but his ability to face hitters on two occasions this early in spring training suggests he's back to full health or close to it. When available in 2022, Marinaccio was effective, as he finished his rookie campaign with a 2.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 56 strikeouts across 44 innings. He'll likely settle back into a middle-relief or setup role for the Yankees to begin the 2023 season.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Facing hitters Tuesday
Marinaccio (shin) will face hitters Tuesday and believes he's on track to be ready for Opening Day, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports. Marinaccio was unavailable for the playoffs last season because of a stress reaction in his right shin. He's being eased into things this spring, but it sounds as though he should be fine for Opening Day, barring any setbacks. The right-hander posted a 2.05 ERA over 40 relief appearances for the Yankees in 2022.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Could return for ALCS
Marinaccio (lower leg) is expected to return if the Yankees advance to the ALCS, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Marinaccio has pitched a bullpen session and is now travelling to Tampa Bay to face live batting practice. The reliever posted an impressive 2.05 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 56 punchouts over 44 innings in 40 appearances in the regular season and could provide a boost to New York's bullpen if the team is able to advance to the next round of the playoffs.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Lands on injured list
Marinaccio was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a stress reaction in his right shin. Marinaccio has had a strong rookie season, posting a 2.05 ERA and a 30.9 percent strikeout rate in 44 innings of work. The injury means he'll end the season with those numbers and will remain unavailable for the ALDS, but it's possible he returns for the ALCS should the Yankees get that far.... See More ... Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Departs with shin soreness
Marinaccio was removed from Sunday's game against the Orioles due to shin soreness, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Marinaccio didn't allow any baserunners while recording three outings between the seventh and eighth innings, but he was dealing with a shin injury that prompted his removal with one out in the top of the eighth inning. Manager Aaron Boone didn't sound too concerned about the issue after the game, so Marinaccio should be considered day-to-day for now.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Moves up from Triple-A
Marinaccio was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. Marinaccio spent a week and a half in the minors but will rejoin the big-league club after Clay Holmes (back) was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Marinaccio has made six appearances in the majors since the All-Star break and has posted a 1.23 ERA and 0.82 WHIP in 7.1 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Sent down Saturday
Marinaccio was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. Marinaccio allowed just one earned run and struck out 26 batters over his last 22.2 innings, but he will be the pitcher who cedes his roster spot to Frankie Montas, who will be added to the active roster to start Sunday's series finale versus the Cardinals. Given his success, Marinaccio will likely be the top option the next time the Yankees need to bring up a reliever from the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Reinstated from IL
Marinaccio (shoulder) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Sunday. Marinaccio will return to the Yankees' bullpen after missing three weeks while nursing right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander pitched two innings on his rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, surrendering a solo home run while striking out five batters. Marinaccio will look to build off the 2.33 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 23 punchouts that he produced over 19.1 innings in 17 appearances this season before getting hurt.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Starting rehab assignment Sunday
Marinaccio (shoulder) is set to commence his rehab assignment with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barres on Sunday. Marinaccio has been out since July 2 while dealing with right shoulder inflammation, but it appears possible that he will return to the team following the All-Star break after he starts his rehab assignment Sunday. The right-hander owns a 2.33 ERA and 0.88 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 19.1 innings in his first 17 career appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Could start throwing by weekend
Marinaccio (shoulder) is currently shut down from throwing but could begin tossing lightly this weekend, Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media reports. Marinaccio was placed on the injured list Saturday, so it's not surprising that he's currently not throwing. The fact that he could resume tossing a baseball this weekend suggests that he may not be facing an extended absence. Yankees manager Aaron Boone seemed to suggest that scenario Sunday, stating, "Ronnie's obviously a younger guy and going through the grind of the major-league season for the first time. Instead of just kind of pushing through this right now and maybe have it be a lingering issue, it's best to give him a few days and try to keep him as strong and fresh as possible."... See More ... Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Experiencing dead arm
Manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that Marinaccio is experiencing dead arm, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Marinaccio tossed a perfect relief inning during the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Guardians but is apparently dealing with an arm injury afterward. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to the mound or whether the issue will force him to spend time on the IL.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Claims first big-league victory
Marinaccio (1-0) earned the win over the Cubs on Friday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he allowed one walk and struck out one batter. Runs were tough to come by for both teams in the contest -- so much so that neither the Yankees nor the Cubs were able to score through three extra frames despite starting off each of those innings with a designated runner. Marinaccio was responsible for fending off Chicago in the top of the 13th, and he did so successfully by retiring three straight batters after issuing a walk to begin the inning. The rookie right-hander was then credited with his first win in the majors when the Yankees walked off with a victory in the bottom of the frame. Marinaccio also has one hold this season, but he has been used primarily in low-leverage situations.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Fans three in relief
Marinaccio pitched two scoreless innings against Minnesota on Tuesday, allowing one hit and striking out three. Marinaccio entered in the eighth inning with New York ahead by four runs. The right-hander kept the Twins from mounting any sort of a comeback, allowing just two baserunners on a single and hit-by-pitch. Marinaccio encountered some struggles near the end of April, but since returning to the majors May 21 he has pitched 5.1 scoreless frames while notching an 8:2 K:BB.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Recalled by Yankees
Marinaccio was recalled by the Yankees on Saturday. The right-hander spent a week and a half in the minors after being sent down May 11, but he'll provide additional bullpen depth after Chad Green (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday. Marinaccio has made four relief appearances for the Yankees this year and has allowed five runs in four innings.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Ron Marinaccio: Back to farm
The Yankees optioned Marinaccio to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Blue Jays. Marinaccio didn't see any usage out of the bullpen following his call-up from Triple-A on Sunday. The Yankees haven't announced an immediate replacement for Marinaccio on the 26-man active roster, but the team now has an opening to bring aboard Luis Gil from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in advance of his scheduled spot start Thursday against the White Sox....
