Pittsburgh OL Juantez Hollins has been suspended for the 2012 season due to violation of team policy, coach Paul Chryst announced Friday.

Hollins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa HS) played in 13 games last year, starting seven. “Even though he will not play in any games, Juantez will remain an active and valuable member of our program and be accountable every day in practice and in the classroom,” Chryst said.

WR Chris Davis, an incoming freshman, will also be suspended for the first week of preseason camp for disciplinary reasons, Chryst said. Davis will be available to return to practice on Aug. 12.

Chryst also announced that sophomore QB Mark Myers has left the program. Myers (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius HS) was 1 of 4 for 5 yards in four games.

Three Orange players no longer with the program: Syracuse DT Cory Boatman is one of three former Orange players who were not listed on the team's depth chart or on the roster in the team media guide on the eve of preseason camp.

Boatman (6-1, 281), a fifth-year senior, was listed as Syracuse's starting NT on the team's post-spring practice depth chart. Boatman appeared in 12 games last season, including one start. The Silver Spring, Md., native had 13 tackles and a sack in 2011.

Former S Shu Mungwa and former walk-on P/K Riley Dixon were also not listed on the depth chart. Mungwa enrolled at Syracuse after originally committing to Stanford. The Syracuse football office confirmed Friday that the three are no longer with the program, The Syracuse Post-Standard reported.

Heralded Cards LB receives first-team snaps: Louisville freshman MLB Keith Brown received snaps with the first-team when the Cardinals opened camp Friday, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
