Baylor's comeback kids were at it again on Saturday in Arlington. The Bears rallied from an early 14-point deficit to pull off a 52-45 win over Texas Tech.
Two weeks ago the Bears had one Big 12 win and a bowl berth seemed like a pipedream. Now the Bears (6-5, 3-5 Big 12) are bowl eligible for the third straight year.
The difference has been a defense that went from being on the wrong side of the record book at West Virginia to shutting down Kansas State and finishing off the Red Raiders.
It looked like the typical Baylor D for most of the game. The Red Raiders (7-5, 4-5) punted only once and Seth Doege threw for 359 yards. The saving grace for the Bears was their ability to force turnovers. They intercepted Doege three times and forced four turnovers. They also came up with the game-winning stop, holding Texas Tech after Glasco Martin scored what turned out to the be the game-winning touchdown.
As was the case against Kansas State, Baylor used a balanced attack offensively. Nick Florence passed for 396 yards and three touchdowns. Terrance Williams continued his productive season, catching seven passes for 175 yards and a touchdown. Lache Seastrunk ran for 136 yards, and Martin added 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Texas Tech went in the opposite direction as Baylor in the final stretch of the season. After starting 6-1, the Red Raiders won just one of their final five games, needing overtime against Kansas to get that win.
