Heineman was scratched Thursday versus the Sharks with Rafael Harvey-Pinard (lower body) back in action. Over his first four NHL appearances, Heineman had four hits, one blocked shots and a plus-2 rating without recording a point or a shot on goal.

Heineman was called up from AHL Laval on Friday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
Heineman played two games earlier in the season with the Habs and did not hit the scoresheet. Heineman had two goals and six points in 10 AHL games before his recall. The Canadiens are high on Heineman, who was selected in the second round, 43rd overall, by Florida in 2020, as he is a speedy winger and has some finishing skills around the net. He was recalled to replace Christian Dvorak (pectoral), who is out for the season.

The Canadiens activated Jordan Harris (lower body) from injured reserve in a corresponding move. Heineman saw action in a pair of games for Montreal before the Christmas break and did not hit the scoresheet over that stretch. Heineman has a goal and four points in seven AHL games this season.
