Olofsson scored on a penalty shot in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Predators. Olofsson was tripped by Jeremy Lauzon on a scoring chance just over halfway through the second period. The goal was Olofsson's first in nine games, though he had a trio of two-assist efforts in that span to remain moderately productive in a bottom-six role. The winger has three goals, seven helpers, 28 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 19 outings this season. He'll likely remain in the lineup due to the Sabres battling a number of injuries up front, but Olofsson could be a healthy scratch when the team is closer to full strength.... See More ... See Less

Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Gets two helpers Monday
Olofsson registered two assists in a 5-1 win over the Rangers on Monday. Olofsson earned his third multi-point game over his last four contests and his fourth over seven games. His recent hot spell is in stark contrast to his run of one assist through his first nine outings of 2023-24. Olofsson is serving in a middle-six capacity and isn't likely to be elevated beyond that role for any substantial period. That makes it a bit unlikely the 28-year-old will be able to maintain his recent offensive success long term.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Helps out twice in home win
Olofsson posted two assists in Friday's 3-2 win against the Penguins. One of Olofsson's assists was the secondary helper on Jeff Skinner's power-play goal at 5:13 of the third period. Olofsson finished with a shot on goal in 14:09 of ice time across 19 shifts. After getting blanked in six games in October, he has come alive lately with two goals and six points in the past five games. He'll look to stay hot Saturday on the road against the Devils.... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Tickles twine twice in loss
Olofsson scored his first two goals of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Bruins. The veteran winger had only one assist through his first nine games of the season while bouncing in and out of the press box, but Olofsson's offense woke up Tuesday -- after banging home a puck that caromed straight to him off the end boards late in the second period, he scored a sniper's goal in the third by taking a pass in the slot from John-Jason Peterka with his back to the Boston net, then spinning and going top shelf over Linus Ullmark in one smooth motion. Olofsson fired home a career-high 28 goals last season, and with Tage Thompson (upper body) now potentially sidelined for a lengthy period, Buffalo needs him to rediscover that form quickly.... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Set to sit as healthy scratch
Olofsson will be a healthy scratch for Tuesday night's game versus Tampa Bay. This news comes as a bit of a surprise following the 28-goal, 40-point performance Olofsson submitted in 2022-23, but he's struggled a bit to start the 2023-24 campaign, going scoreless while posting a minus-2 rating and just one shot on net through the first two games of the season. Tyson Jost will replace Olofsson in the lineup against the Lightning.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Reaches 40-point mark
Olofsson found the back of the net in the Sabres' 5-2 win over Columbus on Friday. Olofsson's marker came midway through the second period to increase Buffalo's lead to 2-1. He has completed the season with 28 goals and 40 points in 75 outings. The 27-year-old has reached the 40-point milestone in three of his last four campaigns.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Clutch helper in win
Olofsson recorded a power-play assist in Friday's 5-4 win over the Devils. Olofsson has power-play assists in back-to-back games, with his latest apple proving to be a critical one since the Devils ended up scoring a pair of unanswered goals in the third period and nearly flipped the script. While Buffalo's a longshot to make the playoffs, Olofsson's propensity for clutch moments shouldn't be overlooked; he's secured 11 game-winning goals in the past two seasons alone.... See More ... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Big night with extra man
Olofsson scored two power-play goals in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Flyers. Both tallies came in the third period, after the Sabres were already down 4-0, but it was still an impressive return for Olofsson after he had been a healthy scratch the last two games. The 27-year-old had only one point, a goal, over his prior 13 contests, and given his middle-six role at even strength and usual spot on the second power-play unit, Friday's performance is more likely to be a blip rather than the start of a hot streak. On the season, Olofsson has a career-high 26 goals, but only 35 points, through 66 games.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Bounced from lineup
Olofsson will not play Monday against the Maple Leafs, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. The 27-year-old is expected to be a healthy scratch with Alex Tuch (lower body) back from injured reserve. Olofsson has 24 goals in 65 games this season, but he's scored just one in the last 17 contests. He averaged just 13:16 of ice time with a minus-7 rating over his last six games.... See More ... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Provides two helpers
Olofsson logged two assists, including one on the power play, in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Kings. Olofsson set up Dylan Cozens and Peyton Krebs for third-period tallies. Playmaking isn't usually the primary component of Olofsson's game, but he has three assists over his last two contests, and he hasn't scored in the last four games. The winger is up to 32 points (23 goals ,nine helpers), 121 shots on net and a minus-11 rating through 52 outings.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Nets goal vs. Jets
Olofsson found the back of the net in Buffalo's 3-2 victory over Winnipeg on Thursday. Olofsson scored on the power play at 10:30 of the third period to put Buffalo up 3-0. It was his 23rd goal and 29th point in 48 games in 2022-23. Olofsson has been on quite the roll lately, contributing 10 goals and 11 points over his last 12 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Tallies in overtime win
Olofsson scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 3-2 overtime win over the Stars. The winger just can't stop scoring -- this was his seventh goal over his last seven games. He gave the Sabres a brief 2-1 lead in the third period. Olofsson has 22 tallies, six assists, a minus-7 rating and 106 shots on net while filling a middle-six role. His impressive scoring rate is bolstered by a 20.8 shooting percentage, so while he can help in some fantasy formats, there's still a fair amount of risk present.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Two goals Saturday including winner
Olofsson scored two goals, one the game-winner, in Saturday's 6-3 victory over the Ducks. Both his goals came in the third period as Olofsson and the Sabres blew open a 3-3 tie. The streaky 27-year-old is locked in right now and has scored eight goals in the last nine games, but he has only one assist over that stretch, continuing a season-long trend that has seen Olofsson collect 21 goals and only six helpers through 45 games.... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Scores again in win
Olofsson scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Islanders. Olofsson tied the game 2-2 midway through the third period, ripping a wrist shot from the circle past Ilya Sorokin. Olofsson has heated up of late, with four goals and an assist in his last five contests. The 27-year-old winger is up to 25 points (19 goals, six assists) through 44 games this season.... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Nets 18th goal of 2022-23
Olofsson netted a goal in Buffalo's 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago on Tuesday. Olofsson's marker came at 12:15 of the first period to tie the game at 1-1. That put him up to 18 goals and 24 points in 43 contests in 2022-23. He's been held off the scoresheet just once in his last four games.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Scores again Saturday
Olofsson scored a power-play goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Predators. Olofsson tallied for the second game in a row, and he's lit the lamp four times in his last five. This was his first power-play point since Dec. 4 -- he's been less effective on the second unit, but he's made up for it with a burst of even-strength offense. The 27-year-old winger has 17 tallies, six helpers, 94 shots on net and a minus-10 rating through 41 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: On 30-goal pace
Olofsson scored a goal and added an assist in a 4-2 loss to the Jets on Thursday. Olofsson is in a Cy Young season -- he has 16 goals and just six assists in 40 games and is well on the way to a new career mark. Olofsson has scored 20 goals twice and could top 30 this year.... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Snipes twice to carry win
Olofsson scored twice, including the winner, in a 6-5 overtime victory over Minnesota on Saturday. His goals bookended the game. Olofsson opened the scoring in the first on a one-timer from the right circle off a no-look pass from Casey Mittelstadt. He then scored the winner with 19 seconds remaining in overtime. The goals snapped a seven-game goal drought for the winger, who now has 15 goals and five assists in 37 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Earns assist Thursday
Olofsson logged an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Avalanche. Olofsson helped out on a Rasmus Dahlin goal in the second period, which stood as the game-winner. With two goals and three assists in his last six games, it's been a solid stretch for Olofsson. The winger is up to 13 goals, five helpers, 65 shots on net and a minus-8 rating in 30 contests overall, and he remains stuck on the third line with second-unit power-play minutes.... See More ... Sabres' Victor Olofsson: Snaps slump with two-point night
Olofsson scored a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-0 win over the Kings. All of Buffalo's scoring came in the third period, with Olofsson potting the second tally in the sudden eruption of offense. The 27-year-old hadn't produced a multi-point performance since Nov. 2, managing only three goals and four points during the 13 games in between, and his numbers on the season (13 goals and four helpers in 29 games) are similarly lopsided. Olofsson's providing some valuable production from the Sabres' third line, but without a top-six placement or a consistent spot on the power play, his fantasy ceiling remains limited.... See More ...
