Capitals' Clay Stevenson: Inks three-year deal
Stevenson agreed to terms on a three-year, $2.325 million contract with Washington on Tuesday.
Stevenson's deal is two-way during the first season before converting to a one-way contract starting with the 2025-26 campaign. The timing of the one-way clause coincides with the expiration of backup Charlie Lindgren's deal and would seem to indicate that Stevenson is poised to take over the No. 2 job in the future.

Capitals' Clay Stevenson: Returned to minors
Stevenson was sent down to AHL Hershey on Tuesday, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reports.
Stevenson had been recalled to fill the void left by Charle Lindgren (upper body), but the Capitals seem intent to give Hunter Shepard a look as Darcy Kuemper's understudy. The 24-year-old will await his next chance to make his NHL debut.

Capitals' Clay Stevenson: Summoned from AHL
Stevenson was recalled from AHL Hershey on Monday.
Stevenson will serve as Darcy Kuemper's backup in Monday's contest against Calgary because Charlie Lindgren was injured during the morning skate. Lindgren is consider day-to-day.
