Flyers' Nick Seeler: Three helpers on Broadway
Seeler picked up three assists in Wednesday's 8-5 win over the Rangers.
The helpers came on the Flyers' final three goals of the night as the team struck five times in the final 12 minutes of the third period. It was Seeler's first multi-point performance since Dec. 8, and it snapped a stretch in which he'd managed only one assist over his prior 16 contests. While he's not much of a scoring threat, Seeler does have 185 blocked shots and 121 hits in 73 appearances this season along with a plus-10 rating, and he's one point away from his first career 20-point campaign.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Logs assist to snap slump
Seeler posted an assist, five hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Canadiens.
Seeler saw heavy minutes as the Flyers dressed but benched Cam York for the full contest. The extra ice time likely helped Seeler end a 12-game point drought, which he did with an assist on Tyson Foerster's third-period tally. Seeler is at a career-high 16 points with 75 shots on net, 113 hits, 169 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 69 appearances this season. His physicality is strong, but the rest of his playing style isn't very fantasy friendly.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Ends drought with helper
Seeler notched an assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.
Seeler's point drought reached 14 games Tuesday, and he was able to put it to rest by setting up an Owen Tippett tally Thursday. The 31-year-old Seeler remains a bottom-four regular on the Flyers' blue line. For the season, he has matched his career high with 14 points in just 55 outings, and he's added 58 shots on net, 69 hits, 137 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating. He can be a one-category specialist in fantasy formats that count blocks, but most managers can likely find better offense from waiver-wire blueliners.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Quiet on offense
Seeler's point drought reached 14 games in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Penguins.
A big scoring performance like that one would have been a good chance for a slumping player to get back on the scoresheet, but Seeler didn't do that. He's gone plus-4 with 25 hits, 35 blocked shots and 13 shots on net during his drought. Seeler is in no danger of losing his place in the lineup -- he's a hard-working shutdown defenseman, so as long as he continues to take care of his own zone, he'll remain in head coach John Tortorella's good graces. For the season, Seeler has 13 points, 56 shots on net, 69 hits and 134 blocked shots over 54 appearances in a bottom-four role.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Picks up helper Tuesday
Seeler notched an assist and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Seeler set up Bobby Brink's opening goal 3:44 into the first period. The helper ended a six-game point drought for Seeler. The 31-year-old defenseman isn't one to get on the scoresheet a lot, and he's had to focus on his own zone a bit more while paired with Jamie Drysdale, who has a bit more flair on offense. Seeler is at 13 points, 43 shots on net, 44 hits, 99 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 40 appearances this season. He needs just two more points to top his career high from 2022-23.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Scores in Tuesday's win
Seeler scored a goal on two shots and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Sharks.
Seeler's goal was his first since Dec. 5. The defenseman actually did pretty well in December with two goals and four assists over 13 games, matching his point total from his first 20 outings of the season. He's at three goals, 12 points, 37 shots on net, 34 hits, 82 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 33 appearances in a third-pairing role. Seeler's usage is limited, but he's two points away from matching his career high from 2022-23, and he does enough non-scoring stuff to be useful in deep fantasy formats.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Dishes pair of assists Sunday
Seeler notched two assists, three hits and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Utah.
Seeler helped out on goals by Owen Tippett and Joel Farabee in a frantic second period. With three points over three games in December, Seeler has matched his output from all of November already. The 31-year-old blueliner is at two goals, seven assists, 21 shots on net, 25 hits, 61 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 23 outings, playing primarily on the third pairing.

Seeler scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and blocked five shots in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Panthers.
Seeler forced a turnover and quickly fired the puck home for the Flyers' second goal. He had gone five games without a point prior to Thursday. The defenseman doesn't add a ton of offense, racking up seven points, 20 shots on net, 21 hits, 55 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 21 appearances so far in 2024-25. While his upside is limited, he is on pace for a career year from his third-pairing role.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Snags helper in loss
Seeler registered an assist and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes.
Seeler has three helpers over his last six contests. He's added 14 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating in that span, and his biggest contributions are likely to be on the defensive side of things. For the season, the 31-year-old blueliner is at six points, 14 shots on net, 34 blocks, 15 hits, nine PIM and a minus-4 rating through 15 appearances. Even in a shutdown role, he could produce a career year.

Seeler notched one goal and one assist in Saturday's 7-5 win over Minnesota.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Good to go
Seeler (knee) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup Tuesday against Washington, according to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Seeler will make his season debut after being injured in an exhibition game against Boston on Oct. 1. He registered one goal, 13 points, 78 PIM, 100 shots on net, 205 blocked shots and 132 hits across 71 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. Erik Johnson will likely be scratched to make room for Seeler's return.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: On injured reserve
Seeler was placed on injured reserve Friday, retroactive to Oct. 1.
Seeler was already ruled out for Philadelphia's Opening Night against Vancouver on Friday. This move allows the Flyers to summon Emil Andrae from the minors, though it's not clear if Andrae will draw into the lineup instead of Erik Johnson, who would have otherwise played in Seeler's absence. Once Seeler is healthy, he will likely serve on the second or third pairing.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Unavailable Friday
Seeler (knee) will miss Philadelphia's Opening Night against Vancouver on Friday, per Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports.
The Flyers are also set to play Saturday in Calgary, and it remains to be seen if Seeler will be an option for that contest. He had a goal, 13 points, 78 PIM, 132 hits and 205 blocks in 71 games with Philadelphia in 2023-24. Erik Johnson is projected to play Friday due to Seeler's absence.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Hoping to play Friday
Seeler (knee) remains day-to-day and hasn't been ruled out against Vancouver on Friday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Seeler's injury appears to be lingering longer than the team anticipated. Given his limited offensive upside, Seeler's potential absence will likely only impact those managers looking for hits and blocks. If the Minnesota native can't suit up Friday, Erik Johnson figures to slot into the third pairing while Egor Zamula could see an uptick in ice time.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Doesn't practice Monday
Seeler (knee) didn't practice Monday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Seeler was hurt during Tuesday's preseason game against the Bruins after blocking a shot near his knee, and he's still dealing with effects nearly a week later. The Flyers consider him day-to-day, and it's not yet clear whether his ailment will impact his availability for Opening Night against Vancouver on Friday.

Flyers' Nick Seeler: Banged up in Tuesday's game
Seeler (undisclosed) logged just one shift in the third period of Tuesday's preseason game versus the Bruins, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Seeler was injured earlier in the game, but he was able to play one shift in the final frame. Given it's preseason, this may just be a precautionary move on the Flyers' part. The 31-year-old defenseman is expected to fill a bottom-four role on the Flyers' blue line in 2024-25.
