Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Ready to rock
Chychrun (hamstring) will be ready for the start of training camp, TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Chychrun missed the final 10 games of the 2022-23 season because of a hamstring injury. In 48 appearances between Arizona and Ottawa last season, he supplied nine goals, 24 assists, 144 shots on net and 83 blocked shots. Chychrun is slated to play on the top pairing with Thomas Chabot (wrist) during his first full campaign with the Senators in 2023-24.

Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Done for season
Chychrun (hamstring) will not suit up again this season, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Chychrun suffered the injury against Tampa Bay on March 23 and was given a 2-3 week timeframe for his return. The Senators don't want to rush back the oft-injured blueliner, so look for Chychrun to be ready to go in September for training camp. He ends the season with seven goals and 24 assists in 48 games split between Ottawa and Arizona.

Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Doubtful against New Jersey
Chychrun (undisclosed) is considered doubtful to play Saturday versus the Devils, Steve Lloyd of TSN 1200 Ottawa reports.
Unless the Senators release another update indicating otherwise prior to puck drop, at this point it's safe to assume Chychrun won't be available Saturday. With Chychrun set to be sidelined, look for Nick Holden to draw into the lineup against New Jersey.

Senators' Jakob Chychrun: One of each Thursday
Chychrun scored a goal on three shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Kraken.
Chychrun was involved in the Senators' first two goals. He's picked up a pair of multi-point efforts across his first four games with his new team. The 24-year-old defenseman is up to nine tallies, 32 points, 123 shots on net, 64 blocked shots, 47 hits and a plus-10 rating through 40 appearances this season. He's on the third pairing at even strength, but the Senators' blue line remains somewhat fluid to allow Chychrun a bit more ice time than that role would suggest.

Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Mistake-free debut in new uniform
Chychrun played 19:16 and finished plus-1 in a 5-3 win over the Rangers on Thursday. It was his Senators debut.
Chychrun was solid in his debut and didn't really stand out. That's pretty good for a guy who hasn't practiced with his new team or even played in about three weeks. Ottawa has been Chychrun's second home for a long time -- his dad is from the city, and his grandfather and sister live there. So pulling on a Sens jersey is like a dream come true for him. Chychrun will likely soon find his footing and his offense alongside the emerging young powerhouse in Canada's capital.

Senators' Jakob Chychrun: Dealt to Ottawa
Chychrun was traded from the Coyotes to the Senators on Wednesday in exchange for a 2023 first-round pick, a 2024 second-round pick (via the Capitals) and a second-round pick in 2026.
The biggest blue-line target for the trade deadline is now on the move, as Chychrun will join a Senators team on the upswing. The first two picks are conditional -- the 2023 first-rounder is top-five protected, and the 2024 second-rounder could become a first if the Senators make the Eastern Conference Finals this season. It's unclear if Chychrun will be ready to play Thursday versus the Rangers after the Coyotes scratched him for the last eight games, but he could be in line to debut Saturday versus the Blue Jackets. The 24-year-old defenseman has 28 points in 36 contests this season, and he joins a defense corps that also features Thomas Chabot and Jake Sanderson at its core.

Coyotes' Jakob Chychrun: Continues to sit
Chychrun will continue to sit as a healthy scratch for trade-related reasons Wednesday versus Calgary, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports.
The Coyotes aren't going to risk Chychrun suffering an injury prior to the trade deadline, so at this point it's probably safe to assume he won't see game action until he's wearing a new team's sweater. In the highly unlikely event Arizona is unable to come to terms with another team on a trade for Chychrun, he should return to action following the March 3 deadline date.
