Packers' Tyler Goodson: Sticking with Green Bay
Goodson signed a reserve/future contract with the Packers on Tuesday.
Goodson joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa this past offseason. He competed for the team's No. 3 running spot during the preseason but he was eventually waived in late August before quickly rejoining via the practice squad. Goodson was bumped up to the active roster for the Week 17 win over Minnesota, though he never saw the field against the Vikings. The 22-year-old is now set to compete with Patrick Taylor for a depth role this offseason.

Tyler Goodson: Returns to practice squad
Goodson reverted to Green Bay's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Goodson was promoted to the active roster for the first time ahead of Sunday's win against the Vikings. However, the undrafted rookie never wound up seeing the field Week 17, as Patrick Taylor served as the Packers' No. 3 running back and Keisean Nixon handled return duties on special teams. Goodson will now look to make his NFL debut if he is once again elevated from the practice squad for the team's crucial Week 18 matchup against Detroit.

Packers' Tyler Goodson: Up to active roster
Goodson was elevated from the practice squad Saturday.
Aaron Jones (knee/ankle) was able to shed his injury status Friday, so it's entirely possible Goodson's elevation simply is a safety net for the status of return man Keisean Nixon (groin). Goodson, an undrafted rookie, could make his first NFL appearance Sunday against the Vikings.

Tyler Goodson: Returns to Green Bay
The Packers signed Goodson to their practice squad Wednesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
With Kylin Hill (knee) sidelined, Goodson and Patrick Taylor dueled during the preseason for the No. 3 spot behind Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Goodson did his best to earn the gig, totaling 29 rushes for 107 yards and one score across three exhibition contests. However, neither Goodson nor Taylor ultimately made the initial 53-man roster as the Packers opted to only keep two running backs, with the understanding that Amari Rodgers or Randall Cobb could handle emergency RB duties if Jones or Dillon went down with an injury. Regardless, Goodson and Taylor are both candidates to be elevated on a weekly basis now that they are members of the practice squad.

Tyler Goodson: Let go by Green Bay
The Packers waived Goodson on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Goodson signed with the Packers in May as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa, where he rushed for 2,551 yards and 18 touchdowns across three seasons. He also caught eight passes for 60 yards. However, the Iowa product still couldn't earn a spot on the Packers' initial 53-man roster. Nonetheless, per Rapoport, Green Bay wants him back on a practice squad deal, but it's unclear if he'll clear waivers after his promising preseason performances.

Packers' Tyler Goodson: Finds paydirt in finale
Goodson had seven carries for 28 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs. He also caught five passes for 26 yards and returned two kicks for 27 yards.
Goodson was held in check on most of his 12 touches in the Packers' final exhibition contest, but he did score on an impressive 24-yard run early in the second quarter. With 167 yards from scrimmage over the last three weeks, the undrafted rookie has done just about all he could have to earn a roster spot. The Packers could still elect to keep Patrick Taylor as the third running back, but Goodson was the more impressive of the two during the preseason.

Packers' Tyler Goodson: Continues push for roster spot
Goodson had 10 carries for 42 yards and one reception for 10 yards in Friday's exhibition contest against the Saints.
After starting the preseason opener, Goodson worked behind Patrick Taylor on Friday, but the former wound up with more touches and yards from scrimmage and also showed a bit more burst. Unless fellow running back Kylin Hill (knee) returns to action in the next week or so, either Goodson or Taylor will open the season as the third option in the Packers' backfield, and it's a tight race with one audition to go.

Packers' Tyler Goodson: Tallies 14 touches in debut
Goodson had 12 carries for 37 yards and two receptions for 24 yards in Friday's preseason opener against the 49ers. He also returned a kick for 19 yards.
Goodson did not run for more than seven yards on any of his 12 attempts, but he ripped off 23 yards on a screen pass in the first quarter and finished the night with a team-high 14 touches. With fellow running back Kylin Hill (knee) still on the PUP list, the third running back spot on the Packers' depth chart is up for grabs, and Goodson has done enough to challenge Patrick Taylor for that spot.
