Packers' David Long: Claimed by Green Bay
Long was claimed off waivers by the Packers on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Long was waived by Carolina on Friday and he has now quickly found a new home in Green Bay. The cornerback has combined to record 19 tackles and a pass deflection over 11 total games between the Raiders and Panthers this season. With Jaire Alexander (shoulder) missing the last four games and seven total contests this season, Long will provide the Packers with some additional depth in their secondary.

David Long: Waived by Carolina
The Panthers waived Long on Friday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Long played a season-high 92 percent of Carolina's defensive snaps against Tennessee in Week 12 and led the team with seven tackles, but his services have been deemed no longer needed with CJ Henderson having cleared concussion protocol and Shaquill Griffin claimed off waivers Thursday. Long's exit could also mean that Jaycee Horn (hamstring) is close to returning off IR after logging a trio of limited practices this week.

Panthers' David Long: Leads team with seven stops Week 12
Long secured seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's loss to the Titans.
Long was called upon to start with CJ Henderson (concussion) sidelined, and he responded with a season-high seven stops. Long hadn't gotten much of an opportunity in his previous two games since joining the Panthers on Nov. 3, totaling just eight defensive snaps. It's unclear if Henderson will be able to pass the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in time to return Week 13 in Tampa Bay -- if he can't, Long could be in line for another start.

Panthers' David Long: Slated to start
Long is set to start at cornerback in Sunday's game versus the Titans, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
With CJ Henderson (concussion) sidelined, Long will get the opportunity to start at corner opposite Donte Jackson. He spent the first eight weeks of the season in Las Vegas before getting waived and subsequently claimed by the Panthers.

Panthers' David Long: Picked up by Carolina
The Panthers claimed Long off waivers Friday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
Long spent the first eight weeks of the season with Las Vegas, tallying 15 tackles and one pass defended while playing sporadically. The 25-year-old was then waived by the Raiders on Thursday, but he didn't have to wait long before getting picked up by Carolina, which is currently dealing with a banged-up secondary. Long played 776 defensive snaps over his final two seasons with the Rams in 2021 and 2022. That experience could quickly earn him a spot behind top cornerbacks CJ Henderson, Donte Jackson (quadriceps) and Troy Hill.

Raiders' David Long: Ready for MNF
Long (ankle) is officially active for the Raiders' matchup with the Packers on Monday Night Football.
Long will be back in action after exiting the team's 24-17 Week 4 loss to the Chargers early with an ankle injury. With Nate Hobbs (ankle) and Jakorian Bennett (hamstring) unavailable Monday, the cornerback will likely step into a starting role versus Green Bay.

Long will not return against the Chargers on Sunday after logging three tackles (three solo) and a pass deflection. The 25-year-old was filling in for Nate Hobbs (ankle), and with both corners now out, Jakorian Bennett and Amik Robertson should see upticks in their play time.
