Rex Ryan seeks to make sense of jumbled wide receiver situation

Rex Ryan declined to confirm that wide receivers Stephen Hill (concussion) and Santonio Holmes (hamstring) are out for the Monday night game in Atlanta. Hill, however, will be sidelined for at least that game and Holmes longer, according to the New York Post.

Ryan did say that Jeremy Kerley and Clyde Gates were next up to start if Hill and Holmes are indeed out, Newsday is reporting. He also threw Ryan Spadola into the mix. Kerley and Gates have contributed strongly as backups this year with a combined 15 catches for 218 yards.

The Jets boast just four receiving touchdowns in 2013.
