The Houston Texans were the 2015 season's participant on HBO's Hard Knocks. The award-winning documentary series followed the eventual AFC South champions' journey through training camp and the preseason. On Thursday, it was announced that Hard Knocks was nominated for a franchise-record five Emmy awards.

That's cool! Five is a lot when it comes to Emmys. Unfortunately, it's the same number of turnovers quarterback Brian Hoyer had in the Texans' 30-0 loss to the Chiefs in the playoffs. That said, the Texans' season of Hard Knocks was awesome and very fun. Let's take a look back at some of the highlights.

1. The press conference: As our Will Brinson wrote at the time, "Not only is this not football action, it's just dudes talking at a press conference. But somehow NFL Films manages to take a PRESS CONFERENCE and turn it into an entertaining clip."

2. The trailer: Brinson again wrote, "Are you ready for some football? EXCELLENT. It's actually a few weeks away from NFL training camps actually starting but there's no reason we can't begin to get pumped up through the magic of HBO's Hard Knocks preview."

3. The brawl with Washington: As John Breech wrote, "Sometimes, holding a joint practice with another team can be a good idea.

"Then there's other times, where it's not such a good idea because the two teams seem to hate each other with a passion."

4. Vince Wilfork's pickup basketball skills: As I wrote, "Would you not be terrified if Vince Wilfork told you he was about to take over your pickup game? The man is huge and could probably end you with one finger just by deciding he wanted to."

5. DeAndre Hopkins and DeAngelo Hall's Twitter beef:

Bing:

Bang:

Boom:

Cold.

6. Charles James III vs. Odell Beckham Jr: Madden! I wrote, "Beckham, of course, is on the cover of the game, and he apparently likes to play with the Giants using the same strategy the real team used last season: throw it to Odell Beckham."

7. Vince Wilfork's overalls: As Brinson wrote, "The big man didn't offer much of an explanation for why he was wearing the outfit, but he did essentially confirm he was going, ahem, free underneath the overalls."

8. Vince Wilfork vs. Carli Lloyd: A field goal contest between a defensive tackle and a World Cup star? Yes, please.
