It's no secret that many folks around the NFL aren't thrilled at the job that the replacement referees are doing thus far in preseason action. But the NFL, as CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman recently reported, would prefer everyone keep their opinions to themselves.

That didn't happen on Thursday night, when a couple of different NFL folks decided to take some shots at the refs. First up is Bears kicker Robbie Gould who decided to point out via Twitter that the refs are "clueless."

I'm sure there's some joke about "eating clueless" here but I think the more important thing is that Gould straight-up called out the NFL, with an old "@ reply." It's not like he was hiding his opinion by doing that, and calling them out for the "integrity of the game" argument should sit well with the league office.

Another thing that won't go over too well with the folks at Park Ave. is the report from Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean that Titans defensive coordinator was seen "yelling at one of the officials on the sideline before referencing 'The Three Stooges.'"

Mike Munchak was a little more, ahem, restrained, but also said some of the "sloppy" calls at the end of the game were "frustrating."

"There were a few things," Munchak said later. "I think they just got a little sloppy at the end. It seemed like nothing was called most of the game and then all of a sudden there’s a lot of calls. At the end of the game there was a little confusion on was the last ball complete or incomplete. It’s things like that that were frustrating but we want them in so hopefully that’s something they will continue to clean up."

This is kind of the big issue for the replacement refs: they don't have a lot of practice and that's why things are sloppy and need to be cleaned up. Except there's no time. (THERE'S NO TIME!) Eventually, these refs could become pretty proficient at their jobs. It's just going to be tough with everyone comparing their work with a nonexistent model of perfection.
