  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Makes two-way impact Saturday

Edey registered 15 points (5-10 FG, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks across 22 minutes in Saturday's 124-121 preseason win over the Bulls. Edey has shown glimpses of his talent in the preseason, and while a final decision hasn't been made yet, it seems he'll open the 2024-25 campaign as the starting center due to his two-way impact. If Edey starts, he should have plenty of fantasy upside as a young player capable of making his presence felt on both ends of the court.

  • Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Won't return Thursday

Edey went back to the locker room after tweaking his right ankle during Thursday's exhibition in Las Vegas, and he will not return. Edey landed on another player's foot after attempting to block a shot and rolled his ankle, although he was able to walk off the court under his own power. He may have been able to return had this been a regular-season game, but there's no reason to push it during an exhibition contest. Edey looked solid while on the court, hitting all three of his shots on his way to six points, three rebounds and one block over nine minutes.
