  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Questionable Friday

Barnes (wrist) is questionable for Friday's game against Detroit, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports. Barnes hurt his wrist Sunday against the Bucks and was unavailable for Wednesday's matchup against Indiana. He underwent an MRI that came back clean but missed practice Tuesday and wasn't present for Thursday's practice session. It's unclear whether the 21-year-old will be able to return Friday, but his absence from practice isn't encouraging. If he remains out against the Pistons, Will Barton should continue to see increased run.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Ruled out Wednesday

Barnes (wrist) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Pacers, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Barnes will miss Wednesday's contest due to left wrist soreness that stems from an injury he sustained in Sunday's matchup against Milwaukee, joining Gary Trent (elbow) and Precious Achiuwa (hamstring) on the sidelines. Although Barnes received a clean MRI, he still needs more time to let the injury heal. His absence should open up more minutes for Will Barton and Thaddeus Young. Barnes' next chance to play will come Friday against the Pistons.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Officially questionable

Barnes is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Pacers due to left wrist soreness. Barnes doesn't appear to be dealing with anything major and it's not to his shooting wrist, so he could have a chance to suit up. However, Barnes didn't partake in practice Tuesday, which would seemingly have things trending in the wrong direction. The team should update his status ahead of Wednesday's 7:30 p.m. ET opening tipoff.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Misses practice Tuesday

Barnes is considered day-to-day after an MRI on his left wrist came back clean, but he's still dealing with some soreness and didn't practice Tuesday. Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. Unfortunately, the early trends for Barnes aren't particularly promising. With the injury report forthcoming later in the day Tuesday, a more official outlook on his status should surface. If Barnes is unable to take the floor Wednesday versus the Pacers, others in the rotation should add some additional minutes.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Exits Sunday with wrist injury

Barnes won't return to Sunday's game against Milwaukee due to a left wrist injury, Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com reports. Barnes started Sunday's matchup and logged five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 13 minutes prior to his departure. He underwent X-rays that already came back negative, but Barnes will be examined further Monday. He'll have a few days to heal up before Wednesday's game against Indiana.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Falls flat in win

Barnes totaled 10 points (3-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds and two assists over 28 minutes during Saturday's 122-107 victory over the Timberwolves. Barnes struggled from the field and tied his lowest point total since Feb. 8. Coming into the contest, the versatile forward posted 18.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists over his first seven March appearances, so Saturday's performance can likely be chalked up to an off night.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Goes for career-best point total

Barnes totaled 32 points (13-19 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Friday's 122-112 loss to the Lakers. Barnes entered Friday on a run of inefficiency, making just 38 percent of his field-goal attempts over his previous nine games. He turned that around dramatically against Los Angeles, shooting an efficient 13-for-19 from the field en route to a career-high 32 points. The second-year forward rounded out his performance with nine boards and seven assists while committing only one turnover. Perhaps the only negative part of his performance is that he continued to struggle from deep, making just one of four three-point attempts. Over his past five games, he's shooting a poor 23.1 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Gets ejected Monday

Barnes posted 12 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes before getting ejected from Monday's 118-113 loss to Denver. Barnes scored in double figures for a 17th straight game and grabbed his most rebounds since Feb. 1, falling one short of his 14th double-double this season. The second-year forward also displayed his defensive prowess by recording at least one tally in each defensive category. However, Barnes' solid night came to a screeching halt when he was assessed back-to-back technicals and ejected by referee Scott Foster late in the fourth quarter. This was Barnes' first career ejection in the NBA, and it wasn't for anything malicious, so he shouldn't garner any further punishment.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Struggles mightily with shot

Barnes posted 12 points (5-17 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds and four assists over 37 minutes during Saturday's 95-91 victory over the Pistons. Barnes simply couldn't find his shooting touch in this one, though he still managed to end the night in double digits. He also made an impact on the boards and is now averaging 15.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.0 steals in February (nine games).

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Pops for 20 in Sunday's win

Barnes ended with 20 points (5-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 7-10 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Sunday's 119-118 victory over the Pistons. The second-year forward continues to roll, scoring in double digits in nine straight games and averaging 16.3 points, 7.8 boards, 4.6 assists and 1.4 threes over that stretch. Barnes hasn't taken a huge step forward statistically since his Rookie of the Year campaign, but he'll remain locked into a starting spot down the stretch even if the Raptors juggle their starting lineup once recently-acquired Jakob Poeltl is up to speed with the new system and players like OG Anunoby (wrist) get healthy.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Produces well-rounded fantasy line

Barnes finished Sunday's 106-103 win over the Grizzlies with 16 points (7-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Barnes' scoring and rebound totals were right in line with his season averages, but the elevated blocks and steals production enabled him to finish with one of his better fantasy lines in category leagues since the calendar flipped to 2023. Despite the positive outing Sunday, Barnes still hasn't taken a massive leap forward some might have hoped for coming off his Rookie of the Year campaign. His averages have mostly held steady or slightly risen across the board, but he's dropped from 49.2 percent shooting from the field in 2021-22 to 45.8 percent shooting thus far in 2022-23.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Endures rough shooting night

Barnes ended Wednesday's 131-128 loss to the Jazz with 18 points (7-23 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists and one steal over 41 minutes. The 7-for-23 shooting performance made Barnes' double-double line less valuable in category leagues, but the heavy usage was at least nice to see while OG Anunoby (wrist) remains sidelined. In Anunoby's prior two absences before Wednesday, Barnes put up 12 and 14 field-goal attempts, so the increased volume he displayed against the Jazz could prove to be more of an outlier.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Can't connect from deep

Barnes closed Monday's 114-106 loss to the Suns with 16 points (6-14 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 36 minutes. Barnes missed all four of his three-point tries during the loss and has now connected on just three of his last 14 attempts from deep. However, he's still been able to score in double figures in 10 of his last 11 appearances and is averaging 19.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks in 38.2 minutes per game. After a slow start to the season, the second-year forward is finally finding his footing and putting up numbers similar to his Rookie of the Year campaign.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Records double-double in win

Barnes provided 18 points (7-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds and seven assists across 38 minutes during Saturday's 123-105 victory over the Trail Blazers. Barnes continues to be a steady source of production for the Raptors. He recorded his 11th double-double of the season in the victory, and he's one of the few players in the league who can post point-rebound and point-assist double-doubles with equal alacrity. The second-year wing should see a slight spike in production if OG Anunoby (wrist) misses more time.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Back on track Friday

Barnes logged 24 points (9-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 37 minutes during Friday's 129-117 loss to the Warriors. Barnes scored at least 20 points for the first time in over a week, getting back on track after a couple of subpar shooting performances. OG Anunoby left the game early due to a wrist injury, something that could present Barnes with an excellent opportunity moving forward. Already a clear must-roster player, Barnes could see an uptick on both ends of the floor should Anunoby be forced to the sideline. If that is indeed the case, managers may want to prepare for a possible sell-high opportunity.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Scores season-high 29 points

Barnes racked up 29 points (11-15 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Thursday's 128-126 loss to the Timberwolves. Barnes posted double-doubles in two of his three appearances prior to Thursday's matchup and fell two rebounds short of the feat against Minnesota, but he was still a productive player for Toronto during the narrow loss. He posted a season-high scoring mark and has now topped 20 points in four of the last five matchups. Across that span, he's averaged 23.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.2 blocks in 38.4 minutes per game.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Double-double in balanced outing

Barnes ended with 14 points (6-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-5 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 130-122 loss to the Bucks. Barnes provided a spark on both ends of the floor, posting a team-high 13 rebounds en route to a double-double performance Tuesday. Barnes has tallied at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists on five occasions this season.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Stays hot vs. Knicks

Barnes recorded 26 points (8-16 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 9-13 FT), seven rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal across 45 minutes during Monday's 123-121 overtime victory over the Knicks. Barnes knocked down half of his field-goal attempts, and he also made an impact across the board. He's now collected at least one assist, steal and block in back-to-back contests. Barnes has also been hot from a scoring standpoint of late, totaling 20-plus points in four of his last five appearances.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Paces scoring attack

Barnes amassed 27 points (9-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-10 FT), 12 rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block in 37 minutes during Saturday's 114-103 loss to Atlanta. Barnes led the charge for Toronto with his best scoring performance since Dec. 14. He also impressed on the glass to secure his first double-double of the new calendar year. Barnes has now reached the 20-point threshold in three of his last four matchups.

  • Raptors' Scottie Barnes: Flirts with triple-double

Barnes had 21 points (8-14 FG, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, nine assists and two blocks over 34 minutes during Thursday's 124-114 win over the Hornets. Barnes put together one of his better all-around performances of the season, falling just short of a triple-double. He added a pair of blocks for good measure, rounding out the kind of effort managers have been hoping for. His production remains inconsistent, leaving him outside the top 80 for the season. Looking back, his ADP was simply too high, meaning managers are going to have to temper their expectations slightly, at least for the foreseeable future.
