Christopher accumulated 11 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 15 minutes during Saturday's 119-111 loss to the Bulls. Christopher continues to play a limited reserve role for Houston, but he was able to reach double figures Saturday for the first time in four games. Since the All-Star break (nine games), the second-year wing is averaging 8.1 points, 1.4 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 17.6 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less

Rockets' Josh Christopher: Plays 22 minutes in blowout
Christopher amassed 10 points (4-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 133-96 loss to Oklahoma City. The Rockets fell behind big in the first quarter and were never really competitive in their second blowout loss to the Thunder this month. Christopher reached double figures in scoring for the first time since Feb. 4, but on the whole, he hasn't seen a notable uptick in minutes since the Rockets parted ways with Eric Gordon at the deadline. Nonetheless, Christopher is still a player to monitor in deeper leagues, especially if Kevin Porter Jr. (foot) continues to miss time after the All-Star break. Jalen Green (groin) also exited Wednesday night's game, so his post-break status will also be worth keeping an eye on.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Has another strong scoring night
Christopher supplied 20 points (7-11 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five assists, one block and one steal in 28 minutes during Saturday's 153-121 loss to Oklahoma City. Christopher was impressive from the field in this one, where he drilled 63.6 percent of his field-goal attempts. He also added six points from beyond the arc and made his mark on the defensive end by collecting a block and a steal. Christopher continues to benefit from the absence of Eric Gordon (rest), Kevin Porter (foot) and Jae'Sean Tate (rest), though this success is unlikely to continue once the backcourt is back in action.... Rockets' Josh Christopher: Drops 15 points in 19 minutes
Christopher logged 15 points (7-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt), one assist, one block and two steals over 19 minutes during Friday's 117-111 loss to the Raptors. Christopher went 7-of-8 from the floor in the loss, scoring in double digits for the third straight game. Although his point production has been nice, his playing time remains capped. He has failed to play more than 20 minutes in any game this season, remaining on the fringe of the rotation. We do know that he can contribute when afforded meaningful minutes, something that occurred down the stretch last season. He is not someone to look at right now in fantasy, but if the Rockets enter full tank mode, managers should make a point of checking in on whether his role has evolved.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Shifts back to bench
Christopher will return to the second unit for Saturday's game against the Pistons, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports. Christopher saw his first start of the season Thursday in place of Eric Gordon (knee) but played just 19 minutes and scored seven points. With Gordon back in action Saturday, Christopher will be relegated to his typical bench role.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Slated to make first start
Christopher will enter the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Cavaliers, Lachard Binkley of TheDreamShake.com reports. Christopher will step into the first unit for the first time this season with Kevin Porter (foot) and Eric Gordon (knee) sidelined Thursday. Christopher has split time between the NBA and the G League this season, and despite the starting spot, he should not be expected to handle a massive workload. In his last seven games, the second-year guard has averaged 5.1 points across 12.2 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Delivers full line Saturday
Christopher closed Saturday's 113-104 loss to the Timberwolves with 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal over 15 minutes. Christopher played at least 15 minutes for just the fourth time all season, delivering a well-rounded performance. Considering Saturday's performance marked just the first time that he's scored in double figures since April of last season, the second-year guard shouldn't warrant much intrigue outside of deeper leagues, even if he's able to retain a spot in the rotation while both Kevin Porter (foot) and Jabari Smith (ankle) are sidelined.... Rockets' Josh Christopher: Recalled to Rockets
The Rockets recalled Christopher from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League on Thursday, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Christopher will return to the Rockets after a brief stint in the G League. The second-year guard has had a minimal role in the NBA this season, playing just 7.0 minutes per game across 18 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Sent to G League
Christopher was reassigned to the G League on Friday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Christopher has spent most of his time in 2022-23 with the Rockets but was sent down to the G League affiliate briefly last week as well. He hasn't appeared in any of the last three games for Houston, so he may just be heading to the Vipers to knock off some rust, and it seems unlikely his stay will be long.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Back from G League
The Rockets recalled Christopher from the G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Sunday, Lachard Binkley of TheDreamShake.com reports. The 2021 first-round pick will likely dress for the Rockets in Sunday's game against the Bucks, though he may not be included in the rotation if the contest is reasonably competitive. The Rockets recently assigned Christopher to the G League in part because playing time has been hard to come by for him at the NBA level this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Assigned to G League
The Rockets assigned Christopher to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League on Friday, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports. Christopher has appeared in 18 games for the Rockets this season but is averaging only 7.0 minutes played. Houston doesn't play again until Sunday, so Christopher will likely have a brief stint with the Vipers if the Rockets intend to have him rejoin the club.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Actually available
Christopher (foot) is warming up with the expectation of playing in Thursday's game against the Spurs, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Christopher was initially ruled out for the contest but will surprisingly be available to play. He figures to play a depth role in the backcourt and has recorded more than 13 minutes just twice this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Won't play Thursday
Christopher (foot) won't be available for Thursday's contest against the Spurs, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports. Christopher will miss his eighth game of the season Thursday, as the guard is dealing with a left foot contusion. The 20-year-old is averaging 7.2 minutes per game this season and has seen his role decrease after a rookie campaign during which he averaged 18.0 minutes. Christopher's absence won't have much of an impact on the Rockets' rotation Thursday against San Antonio.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Game-time call Thursday
Christopher (foot) is listed as questionable and considered a game-time decision for Thursday's contest against the Spurs, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Christopher is dealing with a left foot contusion and will be a game-time call along with Kevin Porter (knee). Through 17 games this season, Christopher is averaging just 7.2 minutes per contest, but he could be in store for an uptick in playing time if he suits up and Porter doesn't.... See More ... Rockets' Josh Christopher: Questionable Thursday
Christopher is questionable to play in Thursday's matchup with the Spurs due to a left foot contusion. Christopher is averaging only 7.2 minutes across 17 games this season, so his potential absence shouldn't affect the Rockets' rotation much. Christopher's next chance to play will be Sunday's game against Milwaukee if he's ruled out Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Available Friday
Christopher (shoulder) is available for Friday's game against the Hawks. Christopher continues to see spot minutes with Houston. In 12 appearances, he's averaged 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.8 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Added to injury report
Christopher is listed as probable for Friday's game against Atlanta with a sore left shoulder. Christopher didn't even play in the Rockets' last game, so it's unclear when or how this issue surfaced. Either way, he'll probably be cleared for Friday's contest, though he's unlikely to see any meaningful minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Team option exercised
The Rockets exercised Christopher's $2.49 million team option for the 2023-24 season Sunday. Christopher has had an inconsistent role early in the season, as he's averaged just 2.6 points in 7.4 minutes per game across five appearances. However, he was one of several Rockets to have their third-year options picked up Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Fading fast
Christopher closed with two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) across four minutes during Monday's 114-108 win over Utah. Christopher has now been essentially cut from the rotation twice in Houston's first four games. During his time on the court, Christopher has compiled 11 points (5-14 FG, 0-6 3Pt) across 36 minutes. The 20-year-old has been usurped by superior shooters in Daishen Nix and Garrison Mathews.... See More ... See Less -
Rockets' Josh Christopher: Ends preseason with solid effort
Christopher ended with 11 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, two steals and one assist in 23 minutes during Friday's victory over Indiana. Christopher was solid off the bench yet again and should enter the season with a regular rotation spot. His playing time could fluctuate slightly but given what we saw from him during his rookie campaign, it does appear that the coaching staff views him as a meaningful piece. While he is certainly not on the fantasy radar in standard leagues, he is a name to watch, especially if his role increases at some point down the stretch.... See More ... See Less
