Nets' Keon Johnson: Headed to bench
Johnson is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Thunder.
Johnson will head back to his regular bench role due to the return of Cameron Johnson. The former Tennessee star will come off the bench for the first time since Dec. 1. He's averaging 5.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game when playing on the second unit.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Scores 20 points Tuesday
Johnson posted 20 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal in 29 minutes during Tuesday's 132-114 win over the Trail Blazers.
Johnson has reached the 20-point mark just three times all season, so the fact that he's done it twice over the Nets' last three outings is encouraging. The former Tennessee standout has been better than expected since moving to a starting role in December. He made his first start of the campaign Dec. 2 and hasn't looked back, averaging 11.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game as a starter (19 games).

Nets' Keon Johnson: Leads team with 22 points
Johnson chipped in 22 points (8-21 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 36 minutes during Friday's 124-105 loss to the Nuggets.
The Nets were outplayed and overworked Friday evening, but Johnson did his best to keep the team above water. Numerous injuries have thrust Johnson into an expanded role, and Friday's result marked his second-highest scoring total of the season. The Tennessee product will continue to be a key part of the offense while the Nets limp through the schedule.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Productive in loss
Johnson posted 12 points (4-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, five assists and four steals in 32 minutes during Monday's 113-99 loss to the Pacers.
With the Nets dealing with several injuries and unloading some veterans via trade recently, Johnson has become a popular pickup in fantasy basketball. Over his last eight appearances, he's been very productive with averages of 14.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 2.1 three-pointers in 31.7 minutes per contest.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Flirts with triple-double in loss
Johnson scored 15 points (5-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), grabbed eight boards, dished eight assists and nabbed one steal in 36 minutes during the 123-94 loss to the 76ers on Saturday.
Johnson stuffed the stat sheet as a starter in Cam Thomas's (hamstring) absence. The fourth-year guard is averaging 10.4 points and 3.8 assists with the first unit this year, and with Thomas expected to miss multiple weeks, Johnson could be due for an increased role in the offense, especially if D'Angelo Russell (shin) also misses extended time.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Tallies 17 points Wednesday
Johnson racked up 17 points (6-18 FG, 3-12 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one steal over 29 minutes during Wednesday's 130-113 loss to Toronto.
Johnson scored double digits for the fifth straight game, continuing his recent bump in form. He has recorded at least one steal in all five games, logging at least 29 minutes in four. Although the return of Cam Thomas (injury management) will impact Johnson's opportunities, he should remain a key piece in the rotation given the Nets are simply trying to get a look at what their young core can deliver on a nightly basis.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Scores career-high 25 points
Johnson recorded 25 points (10-20 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 37 minutes during Friday's 96-87 loss to the Spurs.
Johnson notched a new career-high scoring mark and led Brooklyn in this tight loss to the Spurs. The former Tennessee standout has been starting in recent weeks due to the team's lack of depth in the backcourt caused by injuries to players such as Cam Thomas (hamstring) and Ziaire Williams (knee), and Johnson is making the most of the opportunity. He's scored in double digits in four of his last seven starts.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Records three steals
Johnson finished with 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals in 28 minutes during Monday's 110-95 loss to the Heat.
Johnson recorded a season-high three steals, a number he's reached four times in his career. The Nets were shorthanded Monday due to Dorian Finney-Smith (calf) being out, but Monday's line is something to keep in mind with the Nets rumored to be sellers at the trade deadline. Johnson is certainly on the deep-league radar going forward.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Starting role yields little
Johnson finished Saturday's 105-94 loss to the Jazz with eight points (3-14 FG, 0-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 29 minutes.
With Cam Thomas (hamstring) and Ziaire Williams (knee) sidelined, Johnson continues to start for the Nets but has yet to fully take advantage of the situation. Having now started seven consecutive games, Johnson has scored double-digits only once, producing 43 total points in that time. Although there is a chance he continues to start, at least for the foreseeable future, Johnson is unlikely to be a leading producer, especially once the team is healthy.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Puts up 12 points Friday
Johnson logged 12 points (4-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one block over 23 minutes during Friday's 135-119 loss to the Grizzlies.
Johnson scored in double digits for the first time since moving to the starting lineup Dec. 2, and this was certainly a step in the right direction after struggling with his shot in recent games. In his four starts, Johnson is averaging 7.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 31.3 percent from the floor, so he needs to improve in the efficiency department to boost his fantasy stock.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Starting Monday vs. Bulls
Johnson will enter the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Bulls, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Johnson will receive his first start as a member of the Nets, with his last start coming in the 2021-22 campaign with Portland. Across his last five outings, the 22-year-old guard averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 24.0 minutes per contest while shooting 39.1 percent from the field.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Steps up off bench in defeat
Johnson totaled 12 points (5-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and two steals over 32 minutes during Sunday's 100-92 loss to the Magic.
Johnson saw north of 30 minutes off the bench, using that time on the court to finish as one of four Nets players with a double-digit point total while swiping a team-high-tying pair of steals as well. Johnson has reached double figures in scoring in four outings this season, doing so in two straight contests while connecting on at least two threes in both of those outings.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Scores in double figures
Johnson provided 12 points (4-10 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five rebounds and two blocks across 23 minutes during Wednesday's 139-114 loss to the Celtics.
Johnson got hot from beyond the arc in this one, resulting in his first double-digit scoring night since Nov. 1 against the Bulls. However, playing time has been hard to come by for Johnson in the early stages of the 2024-25 season, as he's averaging 13.3 minutes through his first 11 appearances of the campaign. That could change if he's able to stack decent performances like this one, but until then, production will be difficult to rely on.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Scores 12 in limited playing time
Johnson totaled 12 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in nine minutes during Friday's 120-112 victory over Chicago.
Despite playing just nine minutes during Friday's win, Johnson managed to connect on five of six field-goal attempts and tied Nic Claxton as the Nets' third-leading scorer behind Cam Thomas (32) and Cameron Johnson (14). K. Johnson has cracked 10-plus minutes just twice this season while coming off the bench, but he could see more playing time Sunday against Detroit if Ben Simmons (back) and Bojan Bogdanovic (foot) are unable to play.

Johnson was issued a second technical foul and was ejected from Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Johnson got into a verbal altercation with Ja Morant midway through the second half and was issued his second technical foul. Johnson will finish the contest with four points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), seven rebounds, an assist and a steal across 16 minutes off the bench.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Good to go Wednesday
Johnson (ankle) will play in Wednesday's preseason contest against Philadelphia, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Johnson returns to action after missing Monday's preseason contest versus Washington due to a mild ankle sprain. Johnson will have extra opportunities for playing time due to Ben Simmons (rest) and Killian Hayes (hip) being inactive Wednesday.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Battling ankle issue
Johnson was held out of Monday's preseason game against the Wizards due to a mild ankle sprain, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.
This appears to be a minor bump in the road for Johnson, who reportedly worked out Sunday, per Phillips-Keaton. The team expects Johnson to be able to return to action soon, so he'll be considered day-to-day leading up to Wednesday's exhibition in Philly.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Comes off bench for 14 points
Johnson recorded 14 points (5-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 21 minutes in Tuesday's 115-106 preseason loss to the Clippers.
Johnson appears destined for reserve work after his results in the G League and Summer League earned him a full-time spot. The 22-year-old guard would be in line for more minutes if Ben Simmons or Cam Thomas struggle out of the gate.

Nets' Keon Johnson: Inks multi-year deal with Brooklyn
The Nets and Johnson agreed to terms on a multi-year contract Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Johnson spent the 2023-24 season on a two-way contract and appeared in just five games with the Nets. However, the 21-year-old was excellent in the G League, averaging 17.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 41 regular-season games while leading the Long Island Nets to the G League finals. The 22-year-old also showed well enough in Summer League to earn a multi-year deal with the rebuilding Nets.
