  • Marques Bolden: Cut by Charlotte

The Hornets waived Bolden on Wednesday. Bolden was set to enter the second season of the two-year, two-way deal he signed in March, but the writing had been on the wall for Charlotte to cut him after the Warriors had listed the journeyman center on their 2024 Summer League roster last week. The 26-year-old will look to impress in the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer Leagues with the hope of earning a contract with the Warriors or another club.

Bolden logged six points (2-5 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 30 minutes during Friday's 131-98 loss to the Celtics. Bolden got the start Friday due to the absences of Grant Williams (ankle) and Nick Richards (foot). He could see a similar amount of playing time in the Hornets' regular-season finale Sunday against the Cavaliers.

Bolden is starting Friday's game against the Celtics, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports. Bolden will draw his first start of the 2023-24 regular season and should be in line for a sizeable workload due to the absences of Grant Williams (ankle) and Nick Richards (foot).

  • Hornets' Marques Bolden: Sticks in rotation Friday

Bolden amassed four points (2-2 FG) and three rebounds in 10 minutes during Friday's 124-115 win over the Magic. Bolden remained in the rotation Friday, taking to the floor for the third straight game. Prior to that, he had played on only four occasions all season. While it is clear the Hornets are going to hand minutes to just about anyone down the stretch, Bolden is not someone fantasy managers need to be considering outside of deep leagues.
