Hurt averaged 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.4 minutes across five appearances since signing his most recent 10-day contract. If Memphis wants to retain Hurt, he would need to be signed for the rest of the season.

• Grizzlies' Matt Hurt: Back with Memphis on 10-day deal

  Hurt signed a second 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Monday. Hurt will be joining the Grizzlies on a 10-day pact for the second time this season, after the third-year pro was previously with the NBA team from Jan. 29 through Feb. 7. He made three appearances during that stretch and averaged 5.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.3 minutes per contest. With two-way player Trey Jemison approaching the maximum amount of active games that he's allotted, Hurt could end up serving as the Grizzlies' backup center in the short term behind starter Jaren Jackson.

Even though Memphis was without 10 players for Tuesday's 123-113 loss to the Knicks, Hurt didn't see any action off the bench. The Grizzlies' decision not to re-sign him to a second 10-day deal thus doesn't register as a major surprise, though Memphis could look to bring Hurt back if the team still has an opening on the 15-man roster in the aftermath of Thursday's trade deadline. After signing with the Grizzlies on Jan. 29, Hurt appeared in three games and averaged 5.7 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 18.7 minutes per contest. He'll likely join the G League's Memphis Hustle while he waits for his next NBA opportunity.

With the Grizzlies shorthanded again, Hurt played a career-high 30 minutes during the blowout loss, but he struggled to find an offensive rhythm. He may sign another 10-day contract if Memphis doesn't get a few players back this week, but Hurt's fantasy value remains modest and is tied to his ability to knock down open three-pointers, which he hasn't done thus far -- 2-for-10 from deep across three appearances.

  Hurt signed a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The Grizzlies have a long injury list ahead of Monday's game versus the Kings, so Hurt will provide some short-term emergency depth. The third-year player out of Duke has yet to make his NBA regular-season debut, but he's been playing well for the G League's Memphis Hustle, averaging 22.2 points on 55.4 percent shooting from the field -- including 47.1 percent from deep -- in 32.7 minutes per game over 17 appearances.
