Highsmith has appeared in back-to-back contests for the first time since before the All-Star break, but his role remains extremely limited. Across those two appearances, the undrafted big man out of Wheeling Jesuit has totaled just nine points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 20 minutes.

  • Heat's Haywood Highsmith: Available Friday

Highsmith (lower leg) is available for Friday's game against Orlando. Highsmith returned from a one-game absence Tuesday against Boston and posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double in 30 minutes of playing time. He was probable ahead of Friday's matchup and will officially be able to suit up once again. However, Jimmy Butler (back) will return to the court against the Magic, so Highsmith's role will likely decrease Friday.

  • Heat's Haywood Highsmith: Probable vs. Magic

Highsmith is probable for Friday's game against the Magic due to a bruised shin, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Highsmith was impressive off the bench in the absence of Jimmy Butler (back) during Tuesday's win over the Celtics, as he posted 15 points, 10 boards, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes. He'll presumably see a reduction in role Friday with Butler healthy, but Highsmith should remain a part of the rotation most nights.

  • Heat's Haywood Highsmith: Big night off bench

Highsmith finished with 15 points (5-7 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 30 minutes during Tuesday's 98-95 victory over Boston. Though Max Strus entered the starting five after Jimmy Butler (back) was a late scratch, Highsmith still saw plenty of playing time while starting forward Caleb Martin battled foul trouble. Highsmith ended up playing his most minutes since Dec. 20 and came through with his second double-double of the season while providing excellent production from three-point range. Unless Butler's absence proves to be a long-term one, Highsmith's big night should be viewed as an outlier rather than something he'll be able to frequently replicate.

  • Heat's Haywood Highsmith: Listed probable Thursday

Highsmith (undisclosed) is considered probable for Thursday's game versus the Bucks, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Highsmith doesn't look to be in danger of missing Thursday's game, but the Heat are notorious for being overly cautious on their injury report. Highsmith has started each of the last three games and could do so again versus the Bucks, with Caleb Martin (quad), Tyler Herro (Achilles) and Kyle Lowry (knee) all sitting.

  • Heat's Haywood Highsmith: Not starting Friday

Highsmith will come off the bench Friday against Indiana. Highsmith played 41 minutes Tuesday with the Heat hampered by injuries. However, with the team fully healthy Friday, he should be closer to his season average of 20.0 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Haywood Highsmith: Sharp from deep in loss

Highsmith closed with 18 points (7-10 FG, 4-4 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and four steals over 41 minutes during Tuesday's 113-103 loss to the Bulls. Highsmith made his second start of the season due to the absence of Jimmy Butler (illness), and there's no question he made his presence felt on both ends of the court. That said, he doesn't score in double digits often and regularly plays a minimal role off the bench, so he shouldn't have a lot of upside going forward unless he finds a way to stay in the starting lineup on a regular basis.
