Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Plays well in 37 minutes
Podziemski chipped in 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 37 minutes during Saturday's 113-112 loss to the Clippers.
Podziemski and Moses Moody gave the Warriors a huge lift down the stretch of this game, and coach Steve Kerr was raving about both players in the post-game conference. The Warriors could get Chris Paul (leg) and Andrew Wiggins (finger) back before their next game on Wednesday, but Podziemski has made a strong case for more minutes. In his last two appearances, Podziemski has averaged 12.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Plays 31 minutes
Podziemski provided 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes during Thursday's 120-114 win over the Clippers.
With Chris Paul (lower leg), Andrew Wiggins (finger) and Gary Payton (calf) all sidelined, Podziemski played 30-plus minutes for the second time in his career. When given extended playing time, the rookie has yet to disappoint, averaging 12.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists when playing at least 23 minutes this season (six times). If the aforementioned trio remains out, Podziemski should continue to handle sizable usage as the leader of the second unit.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Tallies three steals
Podziemski logged 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two assists and three steals in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 123-115 loss to the Suns.
Podziemski was held to single-digit scoring totals in his last two appearances, but he saw a slightly larger workload Wednesday after Chris Paul was ejected. Podziemski began the season on the fringes of the Warriors' rotation but has earned more playing time recently, averaging 11.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 26.0 minutes per game over his last five outings.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Takes hold of rotation spot
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after Tuesday's 104-101 loss to the Timberwolves that Podziemski will be part of the team's rotation moving forward, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. "He's going to play," Kerr said of the rookie. "He's going to play every night. He's earned that. He was incredible [Tuesday]. He's been great in practice...He's a damn good player, so he's going to play."
The rookie first-round pick out of Santa Clara saw action in just five of the Warriors' first 11 games -- mostly in garbage-time scenarios -- but he was pressed into action Tuesday after Stephen Curry (knee) was ruled out ahead of the contest. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green were then ejected for fighting less than two minutes into the game, thrusting Podziemski into an even larger role than anticipated heading into the night. The 20-year-old looked plenty composed in his first extended NBA action, logging a team-high 39 minutes en route to finishing with 23 points (9-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal. In the longer term, Podziemski likely won't play anywhere close to 39 minutes or maintain the 23.4 percent usage rate he held Tuesday in games where Curry, Thompson and Green are available, but the rookie's big night at least seems to have earned him a spot on Kerr's second unit. In the shorter term, Podziemski could push for a more sizable role out of the backcourt in Thursday's game against the Thunder if Curry remains sidelined and/or if Thompson is suspended for the contest.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Steps up in Curry's absence
Podziemski accumulated 23 points (9-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal over 39 minutes during Tuesday's 104-101 loss to the Timberwolves.
The Warriors were playing without Stephen Curry (knee) for the first time all season, and fittingly, Podziemski stepped in as his primary replacement in the rotation and ended up delivering the Warriors' best non-Curry scoring performance of the 2023-24 campaign. Podziemski's big night wasn't entirely a byproduct of Curry sitting out; the rookie's team-high minutes total was undoubtedly inflated by Klay Thompson and Draymond Green being ejected less than two minutes into the contest. Green and Thompson could be at risk of facing suspensions and Curry is considered day-to-day, so Podziemski could once again be in store for an expanded role when the Warriors play their next game Thursday against the Thunder. The rookie first-round pick will likely fade into a smaller role, however, once the trio of Curry, Thompson and Green is back in action.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Back with parent club
Golden State recalled Podziemski from the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors on Saturday.
Podziemski was productive during Santa Cruz's season opener Friday, posting 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes. He's averaging just 2.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 10.8 minutes per game with the parent club this year.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Not starting against Kings
Podziemski is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Kings, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Podziemski has appeared in three games for the Warriors during the preseason, and his best effort came when he posted 10 points and 10 assists against the Lakers on Oct. 13. He will come off the bench here since the Warriors will start Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in the backcocurt.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Racks up 10 dimes in preseason win
Podziemski contributed 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 assists, six rebounds and a blocked shot over 26 minutes against the Lakers in a 129-125 exhibition win Friday.
Podziemski struggled from beyond the arc, but that was really the only negative aspect of his performance. The 19th overall pick in the 2023 Draft has looked great over his first two preseason NBA contests, averaging 10.5 points, 7.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. Podziemski may be helping his playing-time outlook with his performance thus far, though it's still hard to see him getting enough minutes to be a viable fantasy asset given the depth of Golden State's backcourt.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Solid contributor in victory
Podziemski compiled 11 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt), six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 26 minutes during Saturday's 125-108 preseason win over the Lakers.
Although Podziemski came off the bench during Saturday's preseason opener, he led the Warriors in playing time and put together a well-rounded stat line. He was selected by Golden State with the 19th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and was productive during Summer League play, but it's unclear how much playing time he'll be able to carve out once the regular season begins.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Decent in Summer League finale
Podziemski posted 11 points (4-13 FG, 0-4 3PT, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and a steal across 30 minutes of Saturday's 108-101 loss to the Raptors.
Podziemski's shooting struggles continued Saturday as he failed to connect on any of his four attempts from beyond the arc and shot 30.8 percent from the field. Despite his poor shooting, Podziemski displayed plenty to like as a facilitator and defender throughout Summer League.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Flirts with triple-double
Podziemski posted 10 points (3-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 10 assists, nine rebounds and a steal across 33 minutes during Sunday's 94-86 loss to the Pelicans.
Podziemski struggled to find his shot but was impressive distributing the ball and continued to rebound at a high level for a guard. He has been outshined offensively thus far by Lester Quinones, but he has shown flashes of playmaking and rebounding ability as well as an ability to generate turnovers on the defensive end.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Puts on defensive showcase
Podziemski recorded 17 points (7-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five steals, four rebounds, one assist and one block in 26 minutes during Wednesday's 98-83 Summer League win over the Hornets.
Podziemski struggled from the free-throw line Wednesday but had solid overall efficiency. Defense is a concern for the rookie guard at the next level, so his ability to create turnovers at a high rate is a good sign.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Mixed results in pro debut
Podziemski tallied 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes during Monday's 100-94 Summer League loss to Sacramento.
Podziemski was the 19th overall pick in the 2023 Draft, and he figures to garner a major role for Golden State's Summer League squad over the next two weeks. The 6-foot-5 guard is incredibly skilled offensively, but he'll have to prove he can compete defensively if he's going to carve out an NBA role as a rookie.

Warriors' Brandin Podziemski: Selected 19th by Golden State
Podziemski was selected 19th overall by the Warriors in the 2023 NBA Draft.
After barely seeing the floor for Illinois as a freshman, Podziemski transferred to Santa Clara and saw his draft stock soar. He averaged 19.9 points on 48/44/77 percent shooting with 8.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.8 steals. The 6-foot-5 guard has a lot of tools on the offensive end, but he doesn't land in an ideal spot for fantasy value with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Chris Paul in Golden State. The Warriors did trade Jordan Poole away and Donte DiVincenzo is a free agent, so there is a path to playing time on the second unit, but chances are Podziemski will have to be more of a longer-term fantasy consideration.
