  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Inks three-year deal

The Trail Blazers converted Reath's two-way contract into a three-year, standard NBA contract Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Despite his status as a two-way player, Reath had spent most of the 2023-24 season with the Trail Blazers as the top backup to Deandre Ayton. The rookie is averaging 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in 17.4 minutes per game in 40 appearances (11 starts) this season.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Good to go Tuesday

Reath (knee) will be available for Tuesday's game against Minnesota. Reath missed the past two games for Portland, but he was considered probable to return before this update. Reath is expected to soak up the backup center minutes behind Deandre Ayton going forward.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Expected back for Tuesday

Reath (knee) is probable for Tuesday's game against Minnesota. Reath has missed two straight contests while recovering from a right knee injury, but he should be cleared in time to take the court Tuesday evening. The team should have another update on his availability closer to tipoff.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Not playing Saturday

Reath (knee) is out against New Orleans on Saturday, Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian reports. Reath has been bothered by a nagging knee problem and is set to miss a second consecutive game. His next chance to play will come against Minnesota on Wednesday, and if that's the case, he'll likely have a role off the bench with Deandre Ayton and Jarace Walker both being available.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Capitalizing on limited run

Reath closed with eight points (3-3 FG, 2-2 3Pt), one rebound and one assist over 13 minutes during Sunday's 112-103 loss to the Nuggets. Reath has moved into a fringe rotation role now that Deandre Ayton is healthy, but the former has knocked down 12 of 16 shots over his last four games. Reath averaging just 14.8 minutes per game over that span removes him from fantasy radar, but he has rest-of-season streaming credibility if Ayton misses time.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Boosts team off bench in loss

Reath supplied 16 points (6-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one block across 22 minutes during Sunday's 134-110 loss to the Lakers. Reath led all bench players in Sunday's contest in scoring while adding a pair of threes and a quartet of assists in a blowout defeat. Reath has tallied at least 15 points in eight games this season, including in three of his last four games. Reath has recorded 15 or more points off the bench on four occasions this year.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Rejoins second unit

Reath will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Pacers, Danny Marang of 1080 The Fan Portland reports. This is an expected move with Deandre Ayton (knee) returning from a 12-game absence. Reath has fared very well as a fill-in starter this season, posting averages of 12.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 three-pointers.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Scores 17 points Sunday

Reath supplied 17 points (7-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 39 minutes during Sunday's 127-116 loss to the Suns. Reath has started in each of Portland's last six games, and while he is not one of the team's go-to players on offense, he has found a way to score in double digits in four of those contests. Reath will probably remain a starter until Deandre Ayton (knee) is ready to return, which might happen Wednesday against the Nets.

Reath led all players in Sunday's contest in rebounds while adding a trio of blocks and ending as one of six Trail Blazers with a double-digit point total in his first double-double of the season. Reath hauled in double-digit rebounds for the first time this year while also setting a season high in blocks. Reath has finished with at least 15 points and seven rebounds in two straight contests.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Upgraded to questionable

Reath (back) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against Dallas, Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reports. Reath is amid a three-game absence due to lower back soreness. This absence comes on the heels of the 27-year-old rookie booming for 25 points Dec. 26 against Sacramento. For the season, Reath is connecting on 35.9 of 3.9 threes per game while averaging 20.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.8 blocks per-36 minutes.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Unlikely to play

Reath (back) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Suns. Reath is expected to miss a third straight game. Deandre Ayton (knee) also remains out, so the Trail Blazers will rely on a combination of Jabari Walker, Ibou Badji and Moses Brown at center.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Late scratch Thursday

Reath is a late scratch for Thursday's game against the Spurs due to lower back soreness. This is a tough blow for Portland, as they are again without Deandre Ayton (knee). Reath is coming off the best performance of his career Tuesday, as he erupted for 25 points (9-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, one block and one steal in 32 minutes. Moses Brown will start at center Thursday and is likely looking at a significant workload.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Moves to bench

Reath will come off the bench for Thursday's game against Utah, Jazz's radio announcer David Locke reports. Reath will likely see minutes in the teens as Ayton's primary backup.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Making another start

Reath will enter the first unit for Wednesday's game against the Warriors, Casey Holdahl of the Trail Blazers' official site reports. Reath will make his second start of the 2023-24 campaign with Deandre Ayton (knee) sidelined. In his only other start this season, Reath logged eight points, four rebounds, an assist and a block across 20 minutes.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Pops for 13 in Thursday's win

Reath provided 13 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 18 minutes during Thursday's 103-95 win over the Cavaliers. The 27-year-old rookie seems to enjoy playing against Cleveland -- the two biggest scoring performances of his NBA career have come versus the Cavs, as he dropped 16 points on them back on Nov. 15. Reath has seen consistent minutes in the Blazers' frontcourt rotation since Robert Williams (knee) was lost for the season, but Reath hasn't yet supplied much fantasy value beyond his three-point shooting.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Excels from bench with 16 points

Reath chipped in 16 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists and two rebounds across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 109-95 loss to Cleveland. Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen were having their way with Portland's starting center, Deandre Ayton, throughout the contest, but Reath made the most of his 20 minutes in a backup role. After going 0-for-4 from the field with two turnovers in 10 minutes his last time out Tuesday at Utah, Reath had a much-needed bounce-back outing to solidify his spot on the second unit. The 27-year-old rookie looks as though he'll continue to operate as Portland's No. 2 center ahead of Ish Wainright and Moses Brown.

  • Trail Blazers' Duop Reath: Inactive Sunday

Reath (two-way designation) is out Sunday versus Philadelphia. Reath is not on Portland's 15-man roster as a two-way signee. He's a candidate to be activated if the Trail Blazers suffer injuries in the frontcourt.
