Wood (knee) underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his left knee Tuesday, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Wood hasn't played since Feb. 14 due to a left knee injury and has now undergone surgery to address the issue. While Wood hasn't been ruled out for the postseason, a regular-season return seems unlikely.... See More ... See Less

Lakers' Christian Wood: Headed for surgery
Wood is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in the near future and will remain out for several weeks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Wood has been sidelined since the All-Star break with a left knee effusion, and after an extended period of rest and rehab apparently wasn't enough to resolve the issue, the veteran big man will now require a procedure to treat the injury. A timeline for Wood's return may not be established until he gets his knee scoped, but he'll most likely be sidelined for the duration of the regular season. Wood has appeared in 50 games (one start) for the Lakers this season, averaging 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 17.4 minutes per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Out again
Wood (knee) is out for Monday's game against the Hawks. Wood will miss a 13th consecutive game due to a left knee injury. He remains without a clear timetable for return.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Remains out
Wood (knee) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Warriors, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Wood (knee) will miss his 12th straight contest due to a left knee injury. There is no indication that Wood is nearing a return to action.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Still sidelined
Wood (knee) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Kings. Wood's absence streak will extend to 11 games Wednesday due to a left knee injury. While there is no timetable for his return, his next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Golden State.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Remains out Sunday
Wood (knee) will not play Sunday against the Timberwolves, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Wood is overdue for an evaluation, but there have been few details regarding his progress. He remains without a clear timetable for a return.... See More ... See Less -

Lakers' Christian Wood: Remains out Friday
Wood (knee) is listed as out for Friday's game against the Bucks. The Lakers were expected to re-evaluate Wood at some point this week, but the team hasn't provided an official update regarding where the veteran big man stands in his recovery from a left knee effusion. Even if Wood is cleared to return to action for the Lakers in the near future, he won't be a safe bet to unseat Jaxson Hayes for the top backup role behind starting center Anthony Davis.... Lakers' Christian Wood: Out two-plus weeks with swollen knee
The Lakers announced Wednesday that Wood has been diagnosed with effusion in his left knee and will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports that the Lakers have optimism that Wood can return earlier than the initially projected timeline, even though the team's statement says he won't be re-evaluated for another two weeks. Even before the injury had cropped up, Wood had been holding down a modest role off the bench, playing fewer than 20 minutes in each of the last seven contests prior to the All-Star break. Wood's absence should at least give Jaxson Hayes some more security in the rotation as Anthony Davis' primary backup.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Plays well Monday in Charlotte
Wood ended Monday's 124-118 victory over Charlotte with 11 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and six rebounds across 10 minutes. In a game that the Lakers' led throughout but never fully dismissed the Hornets' comeback attempts, Wood was impactful off the bench, posting his first double-digit scoring performance since Jan 15. Wood has struggled from beyond the arc this season, connecting on a career-worst 30.8 percent of 2.3 triples per game.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Blocks three shots Monday
Wood supplied 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three blocks over 14 minutes during Monday's 112-105 win over the Thunder. Wood matched his season high with three blocks and scored in double-digits for the fifth time in the past six games. Despite being out of the rotation against the Suns only two games prior, Wood has been able to put himself back on the standard-league radar. He has been the 64th-ranked player over the past two weeks, averaging 12.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 three-pointers.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Available to play Saturday
Wood (illness) is available to face the Jazz on Saturday, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Wood was dealing with a bad migraine and missed the previous game but recovered in time to face the Jazz. He's expected to see decent minutes off the bench as Anthony Davis' main backup.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Will likely return Saturday
Wood (illness) is probable for Saturday's game against Utah, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports. Wood was a late scratch Thursday due to a migraine, but he should return to action Saturday. Over his last six appearances, the backup big man has averaged 9.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in 20.1 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Will not play Thursday
Wood (migraine) will not play in Thursday's game against the Suns. Wood was a late addition to the injury report and will be forced to the sidelines. He should be considered questionable for Saturday against the Jazz. With Rui Hachimura (calf) out Thursday, Jarred Vanderbilt is a candidate to see increased run.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Sniffs double-double in win
Wood ended with nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt), 10 rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes during Sunday's 106-103 victory over the Clippers. Wood can often get lost deep in the depth chart, but inconsistent play from Jarred Vanderbilt offered Wood some additional opportunity in Sunday's win. Although he only played 16 minutes, he made a solid contribution in the second and third quarter. Wood's usage will always be limited, but he's one injury away from a larger role.... See More ... Lakers' Christian Wood: Will play Monday
Wood (illness) is active for Monday's game against New York, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Wood boomed for a season-high 17 points in Friday's loss to San Antonio, and he'll look to carry his momentum coming off two full days of rest to overcome an illness. The Lakers' frontcourt is healthy entering Monday's contest, so Wood could be in store for a 15-to-20 minute role, especially with Mitchell Robinson (ankle) out for the Knicks.... See More ... Lakers' Christian Wood: Questionable for Monday
Wood is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Knicks due to a non-COVID illness, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports. Wood was added to the injury report ahead of Monday's game with an illness. The eighth-year pro is coming off of one of his best showings of the season in which he posted 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal across 30 minutes. If Wood and Anthony Davis (hip/groin) are unable to go, Jaxson Hayes and Rui Hachimura could be in line for extended minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Productive in AD's absence
Wood ended with 17 points (6-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-8 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 30 minutes during Friday's 129-115 loss to the Spurs. Anthony Davis (hip/groin) wasn't available Friday, so Wood tied his season high in minutes while setting a new season scoring high. The 28-year-old has struggled to make his usual offensive contributions in his first season with the Lakers, but should Davis wind up missing significant time, Wood would likely be the biggest beneficiary.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Just misses double-double
Wood finished with 12 points (4-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 25 minutes off the bench during Wednesday's 133-107 win over the Pistons. The veteran center is starting to look more comfortable in the Lakers' system after signing with the club in early September, but he's still far from reliable in his bench role. Wood has scored in double digits in every other game since Nov. 17, but he's managed just seven points combined in the other three contests. It is a sign of progress for the 28-year-old, but Wood will remain little more than an insurance policy against an Anthony Davis injury or a dart-throw DFS option until he begins to display more consistency.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Christian Wood: Bounces back against Utah
Wood ended Tuesday's 131-99 win over the Jazz with 16 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block over 27 minutes. After going scoreless in his previous outing, Wood nearly notched a double-double off the bench in Tuesday's blowout victory. The 28-year-old big man continues to serve as Los Angeles' backup center but is averaging just 6.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 20.9 minutes across his last 10 appearances.... See More ... See Less

Lakers lead 62-54.
