Brogdon notched four points (2-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 132-109 victory over Sacramento. Brogdon played his fewest minutes since March 1 and struggled to make an impact offensively. Coming into the contest, the backup point guard had appeared in six of Boston's previous seven matchups and averaged 15.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.0 minutes during that stretch, so it's safe to chalk Tuesday's performance up to an off night.... Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Absent from injury report
Brogdon (Achilles) is available for Saturday's game against the Jazz, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Brogdon was ruled out for Friday's game after initially being listed as probable with right Achilles soreness but should be a full-go for Saturday's tilt. He will likely take on a larger role with Marcus Smart (hip) sidelined for the contest and could make an appearance in the starting lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Ruled out against Portland
Brogdon (Achilles) won't play in Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, Jay King of The Athletic reports. Brogdon has been downgraded from probable to out Friday due to right Achilles soreness. Derrick White will likely receive extended minutes in his absence. Brogdon's next opportunity to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Utah.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Late addition to injury report
Brogdon is probable for Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers due to right Achilles soreness, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Despite Brogdon's late addition to the injury report, he is still expected to play Friday. With Payton Pritchard (heel) out and Marcus Smart (illness) also questionable, Derrick White could be in store for a heavy workload.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Scores 12 points off bench
Brogdon racked up 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and two assists over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 104-102 win over Minnesota. Brogdon made a limited impact as a distributor but still bludgeoned his way to a double-digit scoring total for the third straight game and for the fourth time in five appearances. He's averaging 13.5 points per game across six March appearances and remains among the leading candidates for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year Award.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Pops for 18 points off bench
Brogdon ended with 18 points (8-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt), four rebounds, five assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Saturday's 134-125 win over the Hawks. Brogdon continues to alternate good and bad games, having himself a productive outing Saturday. While he has scored at least 18 points in three of the past six games, the other three have yielded a total of just 12 points. Despite his inconsistencies, Brogdon warrants a roster spot in most fantasy leagues, especially until Robert Williams (hamstring) is back on the floor.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Strong showing off bench
Brogdon finished with 24 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-5 FT), five assists and four rebounds across 36 minutes off the bench during Monday's 118-114 overtime loss to the Cavaliers. With Jayson Tatum (knee) not in the lineup, Brogdon stepped up as Boston's No. 2 scorer behind Jaylen Brown and topped 20 points for the fifth time in his last seven games. Brogdon's averaging 18.3 points, 3.9 boards, 3.9 assists and 2.6 threes over that stretch while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and 51.4 percent from long range.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Good to go Monday
Brogdon (ankle) isn't listed on the Celtics' injury report for Monday's game against the Cavaliers. Brogdon has missed back-to-back games due to right ankle soreness, but he'll be back in the mix Monday. The backup guard has been streaky over his past six appearances, scoring at least 20 points in four contests while totaling just seven points in the other two matchups. Brogdon figures to garner plenty of playmaking opportunities versus Cleveland with Jayson Tatum (knee) sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Out Sunday
Brogdon (ankle) will not play Sunday versus the Knicks, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports. This will be the second straight game on the sidelines for Brogdon, and for now, he should be considered questionable for Monday's matchup with the Cavs. His minutes will be divvied up amongst Derrick White, Sam Hauser and Payton Pritchard.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Questionable Sunday
Brogdon (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Knicks, Souichi Terada of The Springfield Republican reports. Right ankle soreness kept Brogdon out during Friday's loss to the Nets. If he's out again, Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser remain candidates for extra minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Downgraded to out
Brogdon (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nets. Brogdon has been downgraded from probable to out with right ankle soreness. Derrick White will still operate as the first guard off the bench for Boston, but in Brogdon's absence, Payton Pritchard could carve out a sizable reserve role versus Brooklyn as well. Brogdon's next chance to suit up will come Sunday against the Knicks.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Dealing with ankle soreness
Brogdon is probable for Friday's game against the Nets due to right ankle soreness. Brogdon finished Wednesday's win over the Cavaliers with two points, two assists, two rebounds and one steal in 23 minutes. He presumably tweaked his ankle during that contest and is now dealing with some soreness, but the issue shouldn't impact his availability versus Brooklyn, though fantasy managers are encouraged to confirm his status ahead of the 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff.... Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Muted production against Cavaliers
Brogdon ended Wednesday's 117-113 win over the Cavaliers with two points (1-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 23 minutes. Brogdon has topped 20 points in four of his last six appearances, but he's been held to five or fewer points during his other two outings over that stretch. The 30-year-old mustered just five field-goal attempts Wednesday and could not generate much production in secondary categories. Brogdon's upside has been on display in recent weeks, but his continued bench role means there will also be lackluster performances, as shown by Wednesday's stat line.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Clears 20-point mark again
Brogdon finished with 22 points (10-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 28 minutes in Monday's 109-94 loss to the Knicks. Brogdon continues to make a strong case for the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year Award, as he came off the bench to deliver his 14th 20-plus-point outing of the season. Though he's averaging 30.8 minutes per game over his last five appearances, Brogdon could see a slight downturn in his playing time and production with Jaylen Brown (personal) likely to return to action Wednesday versus the Cavaliers.... Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Leader from three to lift bench
Brogdon had 24 points (9-12 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, seven assists and two steals across 37 minutes during Thursday's 142-138 overtime win over the Pacers. Brogdon connected on a team-high mark from three while leading Boston's bench in scoring and posting a team-high-tying assist total Thursday. Brogdon has scored 20 or more points in three straight games.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Another 25 points in win
Brogdon racked up 25 points (10-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt), six assists and three rebounds across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 127-109 win over the Pistons. Though the Celtics welcomed Marcus Smart (ankle) back after he had missed the last 11 games, the continued absence of Jaylen Brown (face) left enough minutes and usage available out of the backcourt for Brogdon to come through with a big performance. Brogdon poured in 14 of his 25 points in the second quarter, enabling him to close the February portion of the Celtics' pre-All-Star break schedule with an average of 15.9 points over seven contests to go with 3.7 assists, 3.1 boards and 2.3 triples per contest. The veteran guard remains a must-roster player across all 12-team formats at this time, but look for his value to take a hit as soon as Boston gets both Brown and Robert Williams (ankle) back, which could happen as early as the Celtics' first game out of the All-Star break.... Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Big game off bench Tuesday
Brogdon accumulated 26 points (8-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four rebounds and four assists across 39 minutes off the bench during Tuesday's 131-125 overtime loss to the Bucks. After sitting out Sunday's game against the Grizzlies due to right Achilles soreness, Brogdon was back in the lineup and giving the short-handed Celtics some crucial minutes from the second unit, as the rest of Boston's bench combined for just 12 points. With Derrick White (ear) joining Jaylen Brown (face) and Marcus Smart (ankle) on the injury report, Brogdon could see a hefty workload again Wednesday in Detroit, although Smart might be able to suit up against the Pistons for the first time in nearly a month.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Good to go Tuesday
Brogdon (Achilles) is available for Tuesday's matchup against the Bucks. Brogdon was initially probable, so his upgrade isn't surprising. However, the Celtics will be down Jayson Tatum (illness), Jaylen Brown (face) and Marcus Smart (ankle), while Al Horford (rest) and Robert Williams (ankle) are questionable. As a result, Brogdon should see a significantly increased role.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Probable for Tuesday
Brogdon (Achilles) is probable for Tuesday's matchup against the Bucks, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports. Brogdon took a seat during Sunday's win over the Grizzlies to rest his right Achilles, but it appears like he'll return to action Tuesday. The Celtics are expected to be without Jaylen Brown (face), Jayson Tatum (illness) and Marcus Smart (ankle), so Brogdon should see plenty of usage, though he figures to still come off the bench, as he hasn't draw a start yet this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Malcolm Brogdon: Won't play Sunday
Brogdon (Achilles) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies, Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston reports. Brogdon had been playing through right Achilles soreness, but he had a rough showing in Friday's win over the Hornets and will take a seat Sunday to manage the issue. The absence of Brogdon will further deplete the Celtics' backcourt depth while Jaylen Brown (face) and Marcus Smart (ankle) remain sidelined, so Derrick White, Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser are all candidates for increased roles against Memphis. Brogdon's next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Bucks.... See More ... See Less
