  • Giants' Christian Koss: Records first career RBI

Koss went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Rangers. Koss lined a two-out RBI single into left field to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth frame. The 27-year-old infielder owns a .333 batting average in his last five appearances after hitting .143 in his first seven. Koss has recorded a hit in each of the Giants' previous two games, receiving the starting nod at second base while Tyler Fitzgerald recovers from a chest contusion. Koss is now slashing .217/.280/.217 with four runs scored and a 1:8 BB:K across 26 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Christian Koss: Logs first career hit Sunday

Koss went 1-for-4 with a run scored during Sunday's 5-4 win over the Yankees. Koss started at second base for the third time this season, recording his first big-league hit before coming around to score on a three-run home run by Jung Hoo Lee in the sixth frame. Koss has played in five games during the 2025 campaign, scoring two runs across 11 plate appearances. The 27-year-old infielder is slashing .100/.182/.100 with a 1:4 BB:K so far this season.

  • Giants' Christian Koss: Candidate for utility role

Koss has a chance to win a utility role with the Giants this spring, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. He started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 in Saturday's spring game. "He's continuing to impress, and he hit a ball down the line for a double and he's playing with a lot of confidence," said manager Bob Melvin. "We're giving him some reps right now. It's nice to see because we're putting an emphasis on defense and he's played great defense every place we've put him." Koss is hitting .333 (4-for-12) with a home run in eight games this spring. He's a long shot but the final bench spot appears wide open for the Giants early this spring. Koss had just a .757 OPS at Triple-A last year (54 games) and hasn't been regarded as a top prospect (he's 27 years old), but his glove could help him find a way on to the roster.

  • Red Sox's Christian Koss: Promoted to Triple-A

The Red Sox promoted Koss to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports. Koss' .619 OPS this season with Double-A Portland doesn't exactly jump off the page, but his above-average glove has earned him a spot in Triple-A for the first time in his career. As long as his defense holds, Koss should stay put in Worcester, but he has some work to do at the plate before he can be considered for a spot in the majors.

  • Red Sox's Christian Koss: Traded to Boston

Koss was traded from the Rockies to the Red Sox on Thursday in exchange for left-hander Yoan Aybar. Koss was dominant during his first season in the minors in 2019, slashing .332/.447/.605 with 11 home runs, 51 RBI and 10 stolen bases over 53 games at the Rookie level. He'll continue his development with a new organization as he attempts to remain effective against higher-level competition.
