Rockies' Josh Rogers: Clears waivers
The Rockies outrighted Rogers to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Rogers will stick around in the Rockies organization after he went unclaimed off waivers upon being designated for assignment Monday. He had been serving as a reliever for the Rockies but could step into a rotation spot for Albuquerque, with whom he had previously started in nine of his 10 appearances on the season prior to getting called up to Colorado in late May.

Rockies' Josh Rogers: Pushed off 40-man roster

One day after getting optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, Rogers now finds himself off the Rockies' 40-man roster after Colorado claimed lefty Antoine Kelly off waivers from Texas in a corresponding move. Before his demotion, Rogers had made five appearances at the big-league level this season, giving up seven earned runs on 12 hits and two walks over 9.1 innings. Rockies' Josh Rogers: Activated and optioned
The Rockies reinstated Rogers (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Rogers had been in the midst of a rehab assignment with Albuquerque and will remain with the Rockies' top affiliate even though he's made a full recovery from the left rotator cuff strain that resulted in his placement on the IL on June 17. The southpaw had posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 9.1 innings over his five appearances out of the Colorado bullpen prior to landing on the IL.

Rockies' Josh Rogers: Sent out on rehab assignment
Rogers (shoulder) was sent to the Rockies' Arizona Complex League affiliate Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Rogers has been sidelined since mid-June with a left rotator cuff strain but has been cleared to pitch in games again. He should be ready to return shortly after the All-Star break, although Rogers wouldn't seem to be a given to rejoin the big-league roster at that point.

Nationals' Josh Rogers: Lit up in third rehab outing
Rogers (shoulder) struck out two and covered four innings in his third rehab start Wednesday at Double-A Harrisburg, allowing six earned runs on eight hits and one walk.
The Nationals initially planned to bring Rogers back from the 15-day injured list as a multi-inning reliever when he first resumed his throwing program in mid-June. However, with Joe Ross (elbow) lost for the season, Stephen Strasburg (rib) facing an uncertain return timeline and with most of the Nationals' other back-end rotation options having underwhelmed, Rogers now looks to be building up for a potential starting role. Though he reached 77 pitches Wednesday and now seems to be fully stretched out, Rogers proved vulnerable to the long ball (three home runs allowed) and threw only 49 strikes. Manager Dave Martinez said Wednesday that Rogers (shoulder) will report to the Nationals' spring training facility in Florida later this week to continue his rehab program, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
Rogers has been cleared to resume throwing after landing on the 15-day injured list June 3 with a left shoulder impingement.
