Top Juan Mejia News

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rockies recalled Mejia from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

He's absorbing the roster spot vacated by Chase Dollander (forearm), who went on the 15-day injured list. Mejia has made six appearances out of the Rockies' bullpen this season, permitting eight runs (four earned) with a 10:3 K:BB across 7.2 frames.

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Bumped down to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Mejia to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Mejia was unlikely to be available for the next couple of days after he gave up seven runs (four earned) in 1.1 innings and tossed 44 pitches in Saturday's 21-0 loss to the Padres, so the Rockies opted to replace him on the 26-man roster. Colorado called up lefty Ryan Rolison to take Mejia's spot in the bullpen.

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Receives call-up

The Rockies recalled Mejia from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday.

Colorado optioned right-hander Bradley Blalock to Triple-A in a corresponding move to clear room on the active roster for Mejia, who will rejoin the Rockies for the second time in less than a week. He was called up from Albuquerque last Thursday to serve as the 27th man for a doubleheader with the Royals and made his MLB debut in the second game of the twin bill, allowing an unearned run over one inning of relief. He was returned to Triple-A immediately after the doubleheader but should be in line for a longer stay with the Rockies this time around.

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Returned to Triple-A

The Rockies returned Mejia to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

Mejia received his first MLB call-up Thursday, serving as the Rockies' 27th man for the team's doubleheader against the Royals. He made his debut in the second contest, allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out one.

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Serving as 27th man

The Rockies recalled Mejia from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

He'll be the club's 27th man during Thursday's doubleheader in Kansas City. Mejia, 24, has posted a 5.40 ERA and 19:6 K:BB over 11.2 innings this season with Albuquerque. If the right-hander sees any action Thursday, it will be his major-league debut.

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Optioned to Albuquerque

The Rockies optioned Mejia to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Mejia spent all of last season with Double-A Hartford, where he accumulated a 5.00 ERA and 1.61 WHIP alongside a 65:30 K:BB across 54 innings. After throwing three scoreless innings in Cactus League play, he'll receive a bump to Triple-A for his age-24 season, though his past minor-league performance doesn't inspire much confidence in a promotion to the majors.

  • Rockies' Juan Mejia: Bumped from major-league camp

Mejia was optioned to Double-A Hartford by the Rockies on Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Mejia was added to the 40-man roster this offseason and permitted two runs in three appearances this spring. His control needs work, but Mejia misses bats and will turn 24 this season, so he could push for his big-league debut sometime in 2024.
