Kemp was put on waivers by the Oilers on Saturday, according to Chris Johnston of TSN.
Kemp has yet to play in the NHL. He signed a two-year, two-way contract in May and will be sent to AHL Bakersfield if he passes through waivers. Kemp had six goals and 15 assists in 71 AHL games last season.
