Who's Playing
VCU @ Loyola Chicago
Current Records: VCU 11-5; Loyola Chicago 6-9
What to Know
The Loyola Chicago Ramblers will be returning home after a two-game road trip. Loyola Chicago and the VCU Rams will face off in an Atlantic 10 battle at 7 p.m. ET Tuesday at Joseph J. Gentile Center. VCU will be strutting in after a win while the Ramblers will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Loyola Chicago ended up a good deal behind the George Mason Patriots when they played this past Saturday, losing 86-75. Guard Marquise Kennedy had a pretty forgettable game, finishing with only eight points on 4-for-12 shooting in his 28 minutes on the court.
Meanwhile, VCU strolled past the Davidson Wildcats with points to spare this past Saturday, taking the contest 89-72. VCU can attribute much of their success to guard Adrian Baldwin Jr., who had 19 points and eight assists, and guard David Shriver, who shot 6-for-8 from downtown and finished with 18 points. Shriver hadn't helped his team much against the Duquesne Dukes last week, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
The Ramblers are expected to lose this next one by 3.5. Now might not be the best time to take Loyola Chicago against the spread since they've let down bettors for the past five consecutive games.
Loyola Chicago is now 6-9 while VCU sits at 11-5. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Loyola Chicago is 354th worst in college basketball in turnovers per game, with 16.4 on average. To make matters even worse for Loyola Chicago, the Rams come into the matchup boasting the 16th most takeaways per game in college basketball at 17.6. So the cards are definitely stacked in VCU's favor.
