Quick breakdown

Indiana has a tall task in replacing the production of former point guard Yogi Ferrell, while the Jayhawks boast one of the best backcourts in the country in Devonte' Graham and Frank Mason III. The backcourt battle will be a fun matchup to watch, and an important one given the Hoosiers' turnover, but Indiana's offense shouldn't miss a beat with Thomas Bryant and the return of James Blackmon on the wing. I'm expecting a shootout.

Players to watch

Josh Jackson, Kansas: The Jayhawks bring in freshman Josh Jackson at small forward, where they appear to be loaded with talent. Jackson, a projected top-3 picks in the 2017 NBA Draft, is an incredibly athletic piece that should fit nicely in Bill Self's puzzle alongside Devonte' Graham and Frank Mason III.

James Blackmon Jr., Indiana: After missing half of the 2015-16 with an injury, Blackmon Jr. is in line for a breakout season. He appeared in just 13 games last year, but averaged 15.8 points and shot nearly 50 percent from three-point range. He brings a scoring pop that the Hoosiers will welcome back with open arms.

Matchup to watch

All eyes will be on the freshman phenom Josh Jackson on Friday night, so naturally whoever guards him will be a key battle to keep an eye on. Indiana has one of the best defenders in the Big Ten in OG Anunoby, who at 6-foot-8 has an astounding 7-foot-6 wingspan. He can guard the perimeter and the post, and if and when those two two square off, it will be an absolute treat for college basketball fans.
