BOONE, N.C. (AP) Tre'Von Spillers' 21 points helped Appalachian State defeat James Madison 82-76 on Saturday night.

Spillers also had seven rebounds for the Mountaineers (17-4, 8-1 Sun Belt Conference). Donovan Gregory scored 14 points and added five rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Terence Harcum had 14 points and shot 3 for 11 (2 for 5 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. The Mountaineers prolonged their winning streak to six games.

The Dukes (18-3, 7-3) were led by Terrence Edwards, who recorded 25 points. James Madison also got 15 points and 12 rebounds from T.J. Bickerstaff. In addition, Noah Freidel finished with 15 points.
