  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Racks up penalty minutes

Noesen recorded 17 penalty minutes in a 5-3 win in Game 2 against the Islanders on Monday. Noesen spent five minutes in the box in the first period after dropping the gloves against Kyle MacLean before also snagging a 10-minute misconduct with just nine seconds remaining in the contest. The 31-year-old Noesen ended the regular season on a 20-game goal drought before finding the back of the net versus New York. As such, fantasy players probably shouldn't be expecting consistent offensive production out of the Texas native.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Pots go-ahead goal

Noesen scored a goal on two shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Islanders in Game 1. Noesen's goal was his first since March 7, and he had just five assists over the 20 contests in between tallies. The 31-year-old winger can be expected to see fourth-line usage while also serving on the second power-play unit as a net-front presence. Noesen put up a career-high 37 points (11 on the power play) in a similar role over 81 regular-season outings.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Dials in for power-play apple

Noesen registered a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins. Nosen is maintaining a spot on the No. 2 power play, but a fourth-line role has limited his offensive chances. The 31-year-old forward has just one goal and three assists over a 15-game span and a month's time. Still, with the Hurricanes in line to make the playoffs, Noesen should be an X-factor, as he tends to fly under the radar but is capable of heating up on short notice.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Closing in on career high

Noesen notched his 31st point of the season with an assist in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Jets. Now that he's cracked the 30-point mark for the second consecutive season, Noesen has a chance to hit 40 points for the first time in his career. That's not bad for a guy who's currently skating on the Canes' fourth line, although Noesen does see supplemental minutes on the second power-play unit, where he's averaging 1:33 of ice time this season.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Nets insurance marker

Noesen scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Golden Knights. Noesen has a goal and an assist over his last two games after going seven contests without a point. His third-period marker served as insurance as the Hurricanes clamped down late in the game. He's at 12 goals, 29 points, 69 shots on net, 69 hits and a plus-10 rating through 53 appearances. Noesen's got solid offense and a power-play role, but his fourth-line assignment at even strength should be a red flag for fantasy managers.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Hands out power-play assist

Noesen logged a power-play assist in Friday's 5-1 win over the Coyotes. Noesen snapped a seven-game point drought when he helped out on a Teuvo Teravainen tally late in the second period. The helper was Noesen's eighth power-play point of the campaign. The veteran winger is up to 28 points, 66 shots on net, 68 hits, 24 PIM and a plus-9 rating while mainly seeing bottom-six minutes for the Hurricanes this season.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Pots game-winner Thursday

Noesen scored the game-winning goal and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 6-3 victory over the Ducks. Both points came in the second period to break open a 3-3 tie, and Noesen's offensive surge came immediately after Carolina netminder Pyotr Kochetkov (upper body) had left the game following a hit to the head. Noesen's performance likely made him a hero in the locker room, and the 30-year-old is having one of the best runs of his career with six goals and 13 points in 18 games since the beginning of December.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Returns to lineup

Noesen (illness) saw 7:25 of ice time in his return to the lineup in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Blues. Noesen played an uneventful game against the Blues with no hits, no PIM and only two shots on net. His 7:25 TOI was essentially half of what he has played over the past month. Noesen was on the ice for the only goal Carolina allowed and ended up with a minus-1 rating. The 30-year old forward will look to bounce back against the Ducks on Thursday but will most likely continue to play a bottom-six role.

Noesen (illness) will play Saturday versus the Blues, per the NHL media site. Noesen was considered a game-time decision after missing Friday's contest. Prior to the absence, he had a goal and three assists over his previous five games. His return will bump Tony DeAngelo from the lineup.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Game-time decision

Noesen (illness) will be a game-time decision Saturday versus St. Louis, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. According to Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal, Vasily Ponomarev is likely to play in Saturday's contest, so Tony DeAngelo could be a healthy scratch against the Blues if Noesen is good to go. The 30-year-old Noesen sat out Friday's 6-2 win over Washington because of an illness. He has 10 goals, 23 points, 48 shots on net and 44 hits in 38 games this season.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Not playing Friday

Noesen (illness) will not be available Friday against the Capitals, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. Noesen will miss at least one game due to an illness and his status for Saturday's tilt with the Blues remains up in the air. The 30-year-old winger has been a consistent bottom-six scorer for Carolina this season, racking up 10 goals and 23 points in 38 games. Tony DeAngelo is expected to suit up as the seventh defenseman Friday.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Under the weather

Noesen didn't practice Thursday due to an illness, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. Noesen's absence from Thursday's practice leaves his status for Friday's game versus the Capitals up in the air. Check back for confirmation on Noesen's status prior to puck drop against Washington.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Two-point effort in OT loss

Noesen scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Friday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Predators. The 30-year-old got Carolina on the board midway through the first period, tipping home a Jack Drury shot in the final seconds of a man-advantage situation. Noesen has been productive over the last few weeks, piling up four goals and eight points in the last nine games, but his lack of consistent power-play time will make it tough for him to sustain that pace.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Pots equalizer Saturday

Noesen scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks. Noesen tallied early in the third period to tie the game at 3-3, but that lasted for just 1:19 before Elias Pettersson put the Canucks ahead for good. Noesen continues to simmer with six goals and two assists over his last 13 contests. The 30-year-old forward is up to 16 points, 38 shots on net, 30 hits and a plus-8 rating through 27 appearances despite regularly playing in a bottom-six role.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Scores early in loss

Noesen scored a goal in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Flames. Noesen tallied off a set play with Jack Drury winning a faceoff to Jaccob Slavin. Noesen tipped in the shot to earn his fourth point over the last five games. The 30-year-old forward has been fairly reliable in a bottom-six role this season, picking up seven goals, eight assists, 35 shots on net, 28 hits and a plus-7 rating through 26 appearances. He also sees time on the second power-play unit, giving him a path to fantasy rosters in deeper formats.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Opens scoring in Friday's loss

Noesen scored a goal in Friday's 8-2 home loss against the Lightning. Noesen cleaned up the trash in front of Andrei Vasilevskiy, giving Carolina its only lead of the evening before things fell apart in the second and third periods. He finished with a plus-1 rating, two shots on goal and a hit in 12:54 of ice time while losing his only faceoff opportunity. Noesen has lit the lamp three times across the past five games.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Supplies only offense in loss

Noesen scored his fourth goal of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Flyers. The veteran checking forward spoiled Carter Hart's shutout bid midway through the second period, blasting home a one-timer on a pass from Tony DeAngelo, but it was all the offense Carolina could muster. Noesen has found the back of the net three times in the last seven games, and on the season he already has 10 points through 16 contests. The 30-year-old is coming off a 2022-23 campaign in which he delivered a career-high 13 goals and 36 points in 78 games, and while he is part of the second power-play unit right now, this is still a heady pace for Noesen given his fourth-line role at even strength.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Hot start to season

Noesen recorded his third goal of the season in Saturday's 4-0 shutout win over the Lightning. Now with nine points in 15 games (3G, 6A), Noesen is off to a great start this season, considering he plays primarily a bottom-six role for the Canes and averages just 11:50 in ice time per game. He's on pace for a 50-point season, but sustaining this production won't be easy considering he had only 36 points last year, so enjoy the scoring surge while it lasts.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Notches two points in win

Noesen tallied a goal and an assist in Monday's 3-2 win over the Flyers. Noesen opened the scoring 3:11 into the first period, burying a net-front feed from Andrei Svechnikov, before adding an assist on Michael Bunting's power-play marker in the second. The 30-year-old Noesen now has two goals and eight points through 10 games this season after tallying a career-best 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 78 contests last year. While Noesen will primarily skate in a bottom-six role, he's averaging 2:15 minutes on the power play, giving him some value in deeper leagues.

  • Hurricanes' Stefan Noesen: Records two more helpers

Noesen notched two assists, including one on the power play, with three hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Avalanche. Noesen has more than made up for his slow start to the season by rattling off three straight multi-point efforts. He's up to a goal and five helpers through six outings, with two of his points coming on the power play. The 30-year-old has added five shots on net, eight hits and a plus-1 rating. Noesen will likely remain on the second line until Sebastian Aho (upper body) is cleared to return to the lineup.
