Shoring up a depth-shy, injury-depleted position, the Saints re-signed WR Greg Camarillo on Wednesday after cutting him to get down to their 53-man roster two weeks ago.

Camarillo, 30, caught 105 passes in his last two seasons with Miami before struggling in Minnesota after getting traded there in 2010. He had 20 catches in 2010 and nine in 2011.

The Saints may be without WR Devery Henderson against Carolina on Sunday. Henderson suffered a concussion on his lone catch against Washington and did not practice Wednesday. They definitely will be without WR Adrian Arrington, whom they placed on injured reserve Wednesday two days after re-signing him. Arrington has a lingering knee injury that required meniscus surgery in August.

The Saints’ only healthy wideouts are Marques Colston, Lance Moore, Courtney Roby, Joe Morgan and Camarillo, who practiced Wednesday. Roby is primarily a special-teams player.

Morgan, the only Saints receiver who can match Henderson’s speed, played his first NFL regular-season game on Sunday and dropped two passes.

“We’re playing a little bit of catch-up together,” Saints QB Drew Brees said. “We’re spending a lot of extra time together after practice. We have been all throughout camp, and we’ll continue to do that.”

Injury update: DE Turk McBride missed Wednesday’s practice with a left ankle injury, joining Henderson and CB Johnny Patrick (right thigh) on the injury list. Interim coach Aaron Kromer said LB Scott Shanle (right knee) was limited.

CB Jabari Greer, who missed the Washington game while recovering from sports hernia surgery in early August, practiced at full go, according to Kromer.

Vilma status: Kromer said the Saints planned for LB Jonathan Vilma to return to the active roster when he comes off the Physically Unable to Perform list after sitting out six games. Vilma rode an exercise bike next to the practice field and exercised with the team at the start of practice.

Vilma, whose season-long suspension for his role in the bounty scandal was lifted last week by a three-member appeals panel, is recovering from knee issues that limited his effectiveness last season.

“It appears that he’s doing well,” Kromer said. “He’s running around, working drills and doing different things. I don’t know if he’s football ready, but the goal is for him to be ready to play as soon as his PUP is up.”

This and That: The Saints re-activated LB Barrett Ruud to their 53-man roster after placing on the commissioner’s exemption list last week as a result of Vilma and DE Will Smith coming off suspension. … OT Zach Strief said he graded out as high against Washington as he did in any game last year despite getting called for two false starts. Kromer, the Saints offensive line coach, said the line as a whole played well against the Redskins and pass protection breakdowns were a result of other players’ mistakes.
