NT Vince Wilfork lost his first rep of one-on-ones to RG Dan Connolly, then destroyed C Dan Koppen, LG Donald Thomas and RG Robert Gallery. Wilfork used three moves: club, rip and bull rush to do it.
Jones gaining a spot: DE Chandler Jones, who the Patriots picked 21st overall in the first round of this year's draft, was thought to be a situational-type pass rusher, at least early as a rookie. He's becoming much more. Jones seems to have a stranglehold at RDE -- he's taking the first- and second-team reps -- after showing surprising strength at the point of attack, along with advance pass-rush moves.
McCourty struggling: CB Devin McCourty went from Pro Bowler as a rookie to being picked on at CB and moved to FS at times as a sophomore after struggling in man coverage. His troubles aren't improving at camp. McCourty was routinely beaten in one-on-one red-zone drills. McCourty wasn't even turning his head around to find the ball. Don't be surprised if Sterling Moore starts getting a few more looks.
