Browns rookie Garrett Gilkey thrust into action

Ankle injuries to guards Shawn Lauvao and Jason Pinkston have pushed rookie seventh-round pick Garrett Gilkey into the starting job on the right side for the Browns. Lauvao and Pinkston are both expected to miss the first couple weeks of the regular season.

The 330-pound Gilkey did not appear overmatched in the preseason game Thursday against Detroit. He is working with the first unit in practice on Saturday.
