Top Day'Ron Sharpe News

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Confirmed out for Tuesday

Sharpe (glute) won't play Tuesday against the Raptors.

After leaving Sunday's loss to the Knicks early due to left hamstring tightness, the injury is now being described as a left glute contusion. That's good news for Sharpe, and it means he'll likely be listed as day-to-day. Guys like Jalen Wilson, Noah Clowney and maybe Danny Wolf could see more opportunities until Sharpe is cleared to play again.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Questionable for Tuesday

Sharpe (hamstring) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

Sharpe is in jeopardy of missing Tuesday's contest after leaving Sunday's loss to the Knicks early due to left hamstring tightness. If the 24-year-old center is unable to suit up against Toronto, Jalen Wilson and Noah Clowney are candidates for increased minutes, while rookie Danny Wolf could enter the rotation.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Set for testing on hamstring

Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said after Sunday's 134-98 loss to the Knicks that Sharpe would undergo testing on his left hamstring Monday to determine the severity of the injury, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Sharpe contributed 10 points (3-3 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 12 minutes before exiting Sunday's contest with 1:49 remaining in the third quarter. Though an official timeline for Sharpe's return won't be provided until his tests are completed, the Nets already seem to be bracing for him to miss at least their next game Tuesday versus the Raptors. Brooklyn recalled Danny Wolf from the G League's Long Island Nets on Monday, and the rookie first-round pick will be a candidate to enter the rotation as starting center Nic Claxton's top backup if Sharpe can't play Tuesday.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Dealing with hamstring issue

Sharpe exited Sunday's 134-98 loss to the Knicks in the third quarter and didn't return due to left hamstring tightness, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Sharpe logged 12 minutes before leaving the game, finishing with 10 points (3-3 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block. The Nets are expected to provide an update on his status for Tuesday's game against the Raptors by Monday night. If he's ultimately ruled out, Jalen Wilson and Danny Wolf are candidates for increased minutes.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Pulls down seven rebounds in loss

Sharpe produced three points (1-1 FG, 1-4 FT), seven rebounds, one block and two steals in 20 minutes during Monday's 125-109 loss to Minnesota.

Sharpe's role as the backup center behind Nic Claxton has been consistent, but the number of field goals he attempts varies widely from game to game. While Sharpe has been efficient from the field when he does take a shot, averaging 69.2 percent from the field, he only attempts 3.7 field goals per game for an average of 6.4 points, which is heavily inflated by 17- and 14-point performances earlier in the season.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Double-doubles in defeat

Sharpe ended with 17 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes during Monday's 137-109 loss to the Rockets.

After totaling just eight points and five rebounds in 29 minutes over his previous two appearances, Sharpe secured his first double-double of the season. The 23-year-old center was one of four Brooklyn players to score in double figures and also led all players in rebounds. Sharpe should continue to serve as Nic Claxton's primary backup at center.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Spark off bench in loss

Sharpe provided 14 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 14 minutes during Wednesday's 136-117 loss to the Hornets.

Sharpe stepped up off the bench and delivered when called upon, scoring an efficient 14 points -- a mark he reached or surpassed just four times in 50 regular-season games last year. Though he's firmly behind Nic Claxton on the depth chart, his strong showing on opening night proved that he can still fill up the stat sheet and make an impact in limited minutes.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Returning to Nets

Sharpe (knee) agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal to return to the Nets on Monday, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

The Nets did not extend a $5.98 million qualifying offer to Sharpe, but they acted quickly to ensure that he returns to the franchise. Sharpe is coming off a career-best campaign with regular-season averages of 7.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks across 18.2 minutes per game in 50 appearances. He'll likely win the backup job behind Nic Claxton in 2025-26, though he does have competition from rookie Danny Wolf.

  • Day'Ron Sharpe: Qualifying offer not extended

The Nets did not extend a $5.98 million qualifying offer to Sharpe (knee), who will now enter unrestricted free agency, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Sharpe is now set to explore other opportunities coming off a career-best year. The 23-year-old center averaged 7.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.8 blocks across 18.2 minutes per game in 50 regular-season outings (two starts) last season.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Not playing Sunday

Sharpe (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Knicks, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

Sharpe will end up missing the final 10 games of the season due to a right knee sprain. The 2021 first-round pick will end the 2024-25 regular season averaging career highs in points (7.9), rebounds (6.6), assists (1.8) and minutes per game (18.2) across 50 games (including two starts). Nic Claxton (rest) should start at center for Sunday's regular-season finale, while Drew Timme serves as the backup.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Won't go Friday

Sharpe (knee) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Sharpe (knee) is out for Sunday's game versus the Raptors, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.

Sharpe will miss his sixth straight contest Sunday due to a right knee sprain. While there is no timetable for Sharpe's return, his next chance to suit up is Tuesday's matchup with New Orleans.

  • Nets' Day'Ron Sharpe: Limited in rehab

Head coach Jordi Fernandez said Monday that Sharpe has been limited to stationary work and will have his right knee assessed this week, Meghan Triplett of YES Network reports.

Sharpe has not played in Brooklyn's last three games due to a right knee sprain, and based on Fernandez's comments Monday, it appears Sharpe still has a ways to go before returning to practice, let alone to games. Drew Timme signed a two-year deal with the Nets this past Thursday and should see the bulk of the backup center minutes behind Nic Claxton while Sharpe is sidelined.
