Top Talen Horton-Tucker News

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Out Sunday

Horton-Tucker (ankle) won't suit up for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Lakers.

This will be the third straight game on the sidelines for THT, which should result in another start for Kris Dunn. Over the past two games, Dunn has come through with averages of 20.5 points, 11.0 assists, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 triples, 2.0 steals, 0.5 blocks and 3.0 turnovers per contest on 65.2 percent shooting.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Still out

Horton-Tucker (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Nuggets, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Horton-Tucker will miss a second straight game due to an ankle injury, and his status for Utah's regular-season finale Sunday against the Lakers remains to be determined. Before his absences, Horton-Tucker was on a tear, posting 31.0 points, 6.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 33.0 minutes over a four-game stretch.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Ruled out

Horton-Tucker (ankle) will not play in Thursday's game against the Thunder, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

Horton-Tucker was initially slated probable before receiving a mid-day downgrade to questionable and will ultimately be sidelined Thursday. With Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Jordan Clarkson (finger) out, the Utah backcourt will be left primarily to Kris Dunn, Ochai Agbaji and Johnny Juzang. Horton-Tucker's next chance to play will come Saturday against Denver.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Downgraded to questionable

Horton-Tucker (ankle) has been downgraded to questionable for Thursday's matchup against Oklahoma City, Brandon Rahbar of DailyThunder.com reports.

Horton-Tucker was initially listed as probable, so while he still has a chance to suit up, he's trending in the wrong direction ahead of Thursday's 9:00 p.m. ET tipoff. If he joins Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Jordan Clarkson (finger) on the sideline, Kris Dunn, Ochai Agbaji and Johnny Juzang would all be candidates for increased roles in Utah's backcourt.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Expected to play Thursday

Horton-Tucker is probable for Thursday's game versus the Thunder due to left ankle soreness, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

It is unclear when Horton-Tucker picked up his ankle injury, but it isn't expected to keep him out of the lineup Thursday. The 22-year-old has started in Utah's last 19 games and is averaging 18.2 points, 6.0 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 29.1 minutes across that span.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Continues strong play

Horton-Tucker ended Tuesday's 135-133 overtime loss to the Lakers with 23 points (7-21 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 9-13 FT), four rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals across 37 minutes.

Horton-Tucker finished with at least 20 points, five assists and four rebounds for a fourth straight game. During that stretch, he's averaged 31.0 points, 6.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds with 46/36/82 shooting splits. If Jordan Clarkson (finger) remains out, Horton-Tucker should continue to take advantage of increased usage over Utah's final three games of the season.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Shines in tight loss

Horton-Tucker totaled 32 points (12-25 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds and eight assists over 34 minutes during Sunday's 111-110 loss to the Nets.

Horton-Tucker ended just two assists away from recording his first double-double since March 11, and he continues to excel in a starting role with both Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Jordan Clarkson (finger) sidelined. He's scored 25-plus points in three games in a row while averaging 17.9 points, 5.9 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game since moving into the starting five since the end of the All-Star break.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Flirts with triple-double

Horton-Tucker recorded 28 points (9-21 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 10-10 FT), eight rebounds and seven assists in 31 minutes during Friday's 122-114 loss to Boston.

Horton-Tucker capitalized on the absences of Collin Sexton (hamstring), Jordan Clarkson (finger) and Lauri Markkanen (hand) once again Friday, following up his career-high 41-point outing with an all-around performance. He led the Jazz in points and assists in the game and should remain a valuable fantasy option for as long as Utah battles the injury bug.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Puts up career-high 41 points

Horton-Tucker racked up a career-high 41 points (15-25 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT) to go with five assists, four rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 128-117 victory over San Antonio.

The Jazz continue to play without Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Jordan Clarkson (finger), and with Kelly Olynyk (illness) and All-Star Lauri Markkanen (hand) also joining them on the sideline Wednesday, even more opportunity opened up for Horton-Tucker to take on elevated usage. Though efficiency has often been an issue for Horton-Tucker in his 16-game run as a starter, he was firing on all cylinders Wednesday, as he was accurate from the field, three-point range and the free-throw line en route to a new career-high mark in the scoring department. Fantasy managers should still plan for him to have some poor shooting nights moving forward, but until both of Sexton and Clarkson are back in the fold, Horton-Tucker should be a strong source of counting stats while he continues to handle a 25-to-35-minute role.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Flirts with triple-double in loss

Horton-Tucker closed Monday's 117-103 loss to the Suns with 16 points (7-18 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 0-4 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists and one steal across 35 minutes.

Horton-Tucker closed to within two rebounds and two assists of a triple-double Monday, a strong start to the week for anyone who kept him active. Unfortunately for those in category leagues, Horton-Tucker's percentages remain an issue, as does his tendency to turn the ball over. If managers can look beyond his glaring flaws in terms of efficiency, Horton-Tucker should be a roster-worthy player in 12-team leagues, especially while both Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Jordan Clarkson (finger) remain out.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Logs 21 minutes in win

Horton-Tucker posted 10 points (3-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and four assists over 21 minutes during Monday's 128-120 victory over the Kings.

Horton-Tucket got the start but didn't make a significant impact, struggling from the field and barely reaching double-digit scoring figures as Kris Dunn outplayed him with a double-double off the bench. Horton-Tucker has been playing well since being promoted to the starting unit, though, averaging 15.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game over his last 11 appearances.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Flirts with triple-double

Horton-Tucker finished Saturday's 119-111 victory over the Hornets with 37 points (14-24 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 10 assists and eight rebounds in 32 minutes.

With Jordan Clarkson (finger) sitting out a third straight game and Collin Sexton (hamstring) still sidelined indefinitely, Horton-Tucker has stepped in as the primary playmaker out of the Utah backcourt. He delivered the best all-around effort of his young career Saturday, falling just three points shy of a personal best in scoring and narrowly missing out on a triple-double. With averages of 27.0 points, 7.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers and 1.0 steals in 32.0 minutes per game over his last three outings, Horton-Tucker needs to be rostered in the majority of leagues, at least until one of Clarkson or Sexton is back in the mix. However, with Utah playing just two games during the upcoming week, Horton-Tucker may not make for a strong option in leagues that set their lineups just once.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Ties season high with 23 points

Horton-Tucker racked up 23 points (10-18 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), one rebound, eight assists and one steal in 30 minutes during Thursday's 131-124 victory over the Magic.

Horton-Tucker scored at least 20 points for a second straight game and tied his season high with 23. He also dished out his most assists since Feb. 10 and notched his fourth game of the campaign with at least eight dimes. With Jordan Clarkson (finger) and Collin Sexton (hamstring) both out, the 2019 second-round pick has drawn seven straight starts and is averaging 14.0 points, 4.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals in 28.3 minutes during that stretch.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Reaches 20-point threshold

Horton-Tucker amassed 21 points (7-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 34 minutes during Tuesday's 120-116 loss to the Mavericks.

Horton-Tucker scored 20-plus points for the first time since Feb. 11, and he did so by shooting 50.0 percent from the field. He also was busy at the charity stripe, where he knocked down six of seven tries. Horton-Tucker has now started six straight games and is averaging 12.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 blocks over this stretch.

  • Jazz's Talen Horton-Tucker: Strong run continues Tuesday

Horton-Tucker amassed 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal across 30 minutes during Tuesday's 102-94 loss to the Spurs.

Horton-Tucker continues to serve as the primary ball-handler for the Jazz, affording him plenty of run on a nightly basis. Often seen as a potential 12-team asset, this is the first time Horton-Tucker has been able to string together more than two or three games of value. Collin Sexton (hamstring) is going to miss at least another week of action, meaning Horton-Tucker should be added everywhere for now.
