Celtics' Neemias Queta: Finalizing deal with Boston
Queta and the Celtics are finalizing a deal Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Queta, who was a second-round draft pick by the Kings in 2021, was waived by Sacramento earlier this week. He appeared in just 19 games over two seasons with the Kings, spending most of his time in the G League. Queta will have a chance to compete with Boston during training camp, but he's likely a long shot to land a spot on the Opening Day roster.

Neemias Queta: Let go by Sacramento
The Kings waived Queta on Tuesday, Adrian Wojanowski of ESPN.com reports.
Queta will part ways with Sacramento after signing a two-year deal with the team earlier this offseason. With Nerlens Noel also being released, Alex Len and JaVale McGee will likely compete for the backup center role behind Domantas Sabonis (thumb). Queta has made just 19 NBA appearances but was a standout for the Stockton Kings of the G League last season.

Kings' Neemias Queta: Staying in Sacramento
The Kings signed Queta (foot) to a two-year, $4.2 million contract Tuesday, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Queta split time between the NBA and G League in 2022-23 as a two-way player. In five appearances for Sacramento, he averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in 5.8 minutes. The 24-year-old center missed the end of the Summer League due to right foot soreness but should be ready to go for the regular season. Queta will likely compete for backup center minutes with Alex Len and Nerlens Noel in 2023-24.
