  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Still weeks away from game action

Coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday that Nesmith (ankle) is still weeks away from returning to game action, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports. Andrew Nembhard (knee) is returning to the Pacers' starting lineup Sunday, but they'll still be without Nesmith for the foreseeable future. Quenton Jackson will move to the bench to make room for Nembhard, while Bennedict Mathurin should continue to start until Nesmith is cleared to play again. Given Carlisle's vague return timeline, it seems unlikely Nesmith will be able to play until after the NBA Cup concludes.

Nesmith (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies. Nesmith has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle against the Pelicans on Nov. 1. • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Out until at least December

Coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday that Nesmith (ankle) will remain out until at least December, Tony East of SI.com reports. Nesmith was already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Knicks, which would've marked his fourth straight absence due to a left ankle sprain. However, the fifth-year wing is now looking at an extended absence, as is Andrew Nembhard (knee). In their absences, Bennedict Mathurin and Ben Sheppard have moved into the starting lineup, but Jarace Walker, Quenton Jackson and Enrique Freeman are also candidates for increased roles.

  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Won't return Friday

Nesmith (ankle) won't return to Friday's game against the Pelicans. Nesmith was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor with 12 points in 10 first-half minutes before sustaining a left ankle sprain. With Andrew Nembhard (knee) also out, the Pacers will need more out of Bennedict Mathurin, Jarace Walker, T.J. McConnell, Obi Toppin and Ben Sheppard.

  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Sprains left ankle Friday

Nesmith is questionable to return to Friday's game against the Pelicans due to a left ankle sprain, Pat Boylan of Bally Sports Indiana reports. Per Tony East of SI.com, Nesmith was in a lot of pain as he reached for his left ankle and had to be helped off the court before limping to the locker room. Nesmith was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor with 12 points in 10 first-half minutes. If Nesmith is unable to return, T.J. McConnell, Obi Toppin and Ben Sheppard would be candidates for further increased roles, as Andrew Nembhard (knee) was ruled out ahead of the contest.

  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Quiet in preseason win

Nesmith finished with four points (2-7 FG, 0-2 3PT), one rebound and one block in 21 minutes during Thursday's preseason win over the Hornets. Nesmith was back in the starting lineup but struggled to find any rhythm. Although he is slated to be a starter come Opening Night, Nesmith's fantasy game is relatively limited. He could very well have pockets of value throughout the season, but it's hard to see him being anything more than a streamer, barring injuries to other key players.

  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Starting vs. Charlotte

Nesmith (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason game against the Hornets. The Pacers rotated their first unit in their previous preseason contest, but they're trending toward what looks like their lineup for the regular-season opener against the Pistons next Wednesday, and that includes Nesmith, who missed Monday's contest against the Grizzlies due to an ankle injury. Nesmith isn't expected to have any limits regarding his workload in this matchup, though the goal should be to keep him healthy and available for the season opener next week.

Nesmith (shoulder) is available for Sunday's Game 4 against the Knicks, Tony East of SI.com reports. Nesmith was deemed questionable ahead of Sunday's contest with a sore right shoulder. • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Iffy for Game 4

Nesmith is questionable for Sunday's Game 4 against New York with right shoulder soreness. Nesmith's shoulder injury is new, as he seemingly picked up the issue during the Pacers' Game 3 win. • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Quiet again Wednesday

Nesmith totaled six points (2-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Nesmith managed just six points in the loss, continuing his disappointing postseason. While he does provide the Pacers with a reliable defensive asset, his inability to score on a consistent basis remains a concern. The series will now head to Indiana, where the Pacers will look to secure their first win.

  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Passive performance in loss

Nesmith registered seven points (3-9 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal across 27 minutes during Tuesday's 115-92 loss to the Bucks in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Nesmith salvaged a rough shooting night with modest across-the-board production. Despite playing a significant role, he has been unable to rediscover his form from earlier in the season. While the loss was far from ideal, the Pacers will now head home for Game 6 and attempt to wrap up the series again.

  • Pacers' Aaron Nesmith: Pops for 15 points in loss

Nesmith accumulated 15 points (5-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and six rebounds over 33 minutes during Friday's 129-120 loss to the Cavaliers. Nesmith was one of eight Pacers players to score double-digits, although it wasn't enough to get the victory. While it has been an encouraging season for Nesmith, this does feel like a best-case scenario in terms of opportunity. Looking beyond this season, it's hard to see him being a must-roster player outside of deeper leagues.

Through 12 March appearances, the sharpshooter is averaging 10.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.8 three-pointers while hitting 40.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.
