Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Heads back to NBA
Garza was transferred from the G League's Iowa Wolves to the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Garza was sent to Iowa on Wednesday morning to practice with the G League club, but he'll rejoin the Timberwolves a few hours later. He's been on the fringes of the rotation for the parent club this year and shouldn't see significant minutes moving forward.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Transferred to parent club
Minnesota transferred Garza to the NBA club from the G League's Iowa Wolves on Tuesday.
Garza, Daishen Nix, Leonard Miller, Josh Minott and Wendell Moore were all sent to the G League earlier Tuesday to presumably practice but have since returned to the NBA club. Garza has made four NBA appearances this season, but he's yet to play more than five minutes in any contest.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Dominates in G League win
Garza tallied 37 points (14-21 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), 13 rebounds, two assists and one block over 38 minutes in Friday's 125-117 win over Windy City.
Garza dominated in the G League season-opener against the Bulls, leading all Wolves players in scoring and rebounds while finishing three points short of the 40-point mark in a double-double appearance. Garza has played well in his time in the G League stemming back to last season as he bounces between the G League and the NBA again to start this year.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Shines against Maccabi
Garza compiled 30 points (9-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 10-12 FT), four rebounds, three assists and a block across 32 minutes in Tuesday's 138-111 preseason win over Maccabi.
Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch gave minutes to several players who are competing for the final roster spots, and there's no question Garza stood out, leading the team in scoring while showing he can handle a more prominent responsibility if needed. Garza is competing for a backup spot in the frontcourt, though minutes will be hard to find with Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid on the roster as well. Don't be surprised if Garza starts the 2023-24 season in the G League.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Scores in double figures off bench
Garza generated 12 points (6-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds and one block in 11 minutes during Thursday's 111-99 preseason win over Dallas.
Garza saw limited playing time off the bench Thursday but had plenty of looks from the floor, as he was one of three players on the team to finish with double-digit field-goal attempts. Garza rejoined the Timberwolves on a two-way deal in early July, so he'll likely split time between the G League and parent club during the 2023-24 campaign.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Sticking with Minnesota
Garza re-signed with the Timberwolves on a two-way contract Sunday, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.
Garza spent the 2022-23 campaign with Minnesota on a two-way deal, and he made enough of an impact to earn another two-way contract with the club. He made 28 appearances with the NBA club last year and averaged 6.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Returns to NBA club
Garza was transferred from the G League's Iowa Wolves to the NBA club Sunday.
Garza posted 47 points and 15 rebounds in Iowa's final regular-season game, but the team is out of the playoff picture, so the big man will fill his typical reserve role for the Timberwolves during the final weeks of the NBA regular season. Garza posted 31.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.8 assits and 1.3 blocks across six G League contests.

Garza led all players in Saturday's game in scoring and rebounds while finishing three points shy of the 50-point mark in a double-double performance. Garza averaged 31.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.3 blocks in six G League contests this season.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Back to G League
Minnesota transferred Garza to the G League's Iowa Wolves on Tuesday.
Garza continues to bounce back and forth between the NBA club and the G League squad with Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) sidelined. Across 13 appearances with Iowa, the 24-year-old center is averaging 29.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 35.7 minutes per game.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Shines in reserve role
Garza had 14 points (6-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 18 minutes during Monday's 136-115 victory over Atlanta.
With Naz Reid (calf) sidelined, Garza played double-digit minutes for the first time in 10 games. The second-year center responded with an efficient 14 points. Garza has been productive when given a sizable role and is averaging 18.0 points per game when he sees the court for at least 15 minutes. Garza could be a streamer for points and field-goal percentage when Reid is out, but he won't produce in many other categories.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Top rebounder in double-double
Garza finished with 23 points (9-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 3-6 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 39 minutes during Saturday's 123-115 loss to Rio Grande Valley.
Garza finished with team-high marks in rebounds and blocks while finishing second on the team in scoring Saturday. Garza has averaged 29.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in four G League appearances.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Flirts with double-double in loss
Garza notched 29 points (13-22 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, three blocks and two assists in 38 minutes during Thursday's 128-117 loss to Rio Grande Valley.
Garza hauled in a team-high rebound total while finishing one board shy of a double-double and one point short of surpassing the 30-point mark. Garza has averaged 31.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks in three G League games this season.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Headed to G League
The Timberwolves transferred Garza to the Iowa Wolves of the G League on Wednesday.
Garza is one of Minnesota's two-way players, so he will likely continue to move between the two levels to keep sharp. However, he has only appeared in two of the Timberwolves' last eight games, so he should see more playing time in Iowa.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Erupts for career-high 25 points
Garza finished with 25 points (9-13 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 23 minutes in Wednesday's 143-118 win over the Jazz.
The 25 points marked a new career high for Garza, who had previously recorded 20 points exactly three times during his rookie season in 2021-22 with the Pistons. Garza is now averaging 22.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in 22 minutes over the Timberwolves' last two games, but the blowout nature of both contests and the absence of Rudy Gobert (groin) on Wednesday were major factors. Assuming Gobert is good to go Friday in Memphis and the Timberwolves are able to keep the game competitive, Garza will likely see his minutes drop off precipitously, if he's not cut out of the rotation entirely.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Shines in garbage time
Garza notched 19 points (6-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes during Tuesday's 146-112 loss to the Nuggets.
Garza was left out of the rotation two nights earlier in the Timberwolves' 128-98 win over the Nuggets, but he received the chance to play in Tuesday's rematch due to the blowout nature of the contest. With both teams resting their key rotation players for much of the fourth quarter, Garza received some extended burn and was able to put up quality numbers as a result. The second-year big man out of Iowa may get a temporary look as the Timberwolves' backup center if Naz Reid sees more time at power forward in the absence of Kyle Anderson (back), but Garza will likely find himself back out of the rotation as soon as Anderson is back in the fold.

Timberwolves' Luka Garza: Takes advantage of opportunity
Garza amassed 17 points (7-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 10 minutes during Friday's 127-120 loss to the Magic.
Garza barely saw action Friday but made the most of his minutes, missing just two of his nine shots en route to posting a career-best scoring mark. He has amassed four games with double digits so far this season, and all four have come since Dec. 30. The rookie struggles with consistency and has found it hard to adjust to the league at times, but he seems to be trending in the right direction. He's averaging 7.0 points and 2.6 rebounds across 10.3 minutes per game in 11 games since the start of January.
