Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Barely breaks sweat in blowout
Mitchell chipped in 22 points (8-15 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Monday's 138-83 win over the Heat in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Mitchell didn't get out of first gear as the Cavaliers easily accounted for the Heat, wrapping up their first-round series. This was little more than a training run for the starters, with no player exceeding 25 minutes. Cleveland will now face the winner of the Pacers and Bucks series, which Indiana currently leads 3-1.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Gets hot late in Game 2 victory
Mitchell supplied 30 points (10-21 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 121-112 victory over Miami in Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Mitchell ratcheted things up during the final quarter, scoring 17 of his team-high 30 points. Miami were able to pull to within two points late in the game, before Mitchell took it upon himself to turn the tide. Now leading 2-0 in the series, Mitchell will be hoping to repeat his last-quarter heroics when the two teams face off in Game 3.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Strikes for 30 in Game 1 win
Mitchell (ankle) contributed 30 points (11-19 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, four assists and four steals across 33 minutes during Sunday's 121-100 victory over the Heat in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The 28-year-old guard missed the final four games of the regular season while tending to a left ankle sprain. Still, after getting another week to rest before Cleveland began its playoff run, Mitchell returned with a bang and led all scorers on the day. It's just the second time in 16 appearances since the beginning of March that Mitchell has scored at least 30 points, and his four steals tied both his season high and his career playoff high.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Good to go for Game 1
Mitchell (ankle) is not on the injury report for Sunday's matchup with the Heat in Game 1 of a first-round playoff series.
Mitchell was held out of the Cavaliers' last four games of the regular season due to a left ankle sprain, but his absences were largely precautionary as Cleveland cruised to the top overall seed in the Eastern Conference. The veteran guard shouldn't face any restrictions in his return to action for the start of the postseason.

Coach Kenny Atkinson said Thursday that Mitchell (ankle) practiced without any restrictions, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Expected to be ready for postseason
The Cavaliers anticipate Mitchell (ankle) will be ready for the first-round playoff series against their opponent Sunday, which is yet to be determined, Joe Reedy of the Associated Press reports.
Mitchell missed the last four games of the Cavaliers' regular season to nurse a sprained left ankle. Mitchell will miss a fourth straight game due to an ankle sprain he sustained in the 120-113 win over the Kings on Sunday, April 6. The Cavaliers are being extremely cautious with the health of their star guard, so Mitchell will have extra days to recover. The goal is to have the superstar guard ready for the start of the playoffs April 19. Mitchell ends the 2024-25 campaign with averages of 24.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game across 71 starts.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Won't play Friday
Mitchell (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Knicks.
Mitchell will miss a third straight game due to an ankle sprain he sustained during Sunday's 120-113 win over the Kings. He was able to return to that game following a brief exit, but the severity remains unclear. With the Cavaliers locked into the top seed in the Eastern Conference, they can afford to be cautious with their superstar guard.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Still sidelined by ankle injury
Mitchell (ankle) is out for Thursday's game against the Pacers, Evan Dammarell of DownEuclid.com reports.
Mitchell is nursing a left ankle sprain, and given that the Cavaliers need him at his best for the playoffs, there's no point in the team risking him in the final days of the regular season. His next chance to play will come Friday against the Knicks, but it wouldn't be surprising if the star guard doesn't play until the start of the postseason.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Out Tuesday with ankle sprain
Mitchell won't play Tuesday against the Bulls due to a left ankle sprain.
Mitchell sustained the injury during Sunday's 120-113 win over the Kings, though he was able to check back into the game following a brief exit. The severity of the sprain isn't known, but even if it's just a minor concern, the Cavaliers won't take any chances with the star guard Tuesday while the team needs just one win over its final four games of the regular season to clinch the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed. His absence Tuesday could lead to elevated usage for Darius Garland, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen and increased playing time for Ty Jerome, Sam Merrill and Craig Porter.
