Lundberg agreed to a contract Wednesday with Italian club Virtus Bologna, Aris Barkas of Eurohoops.net reports. Lundberg joined the Suns late in the 2021-22 and finished the season as one of the team's two two-way players, but he didn't make enough of an impression over his four appearances with Phoenix for the team to extend him a qualifying offer ahead of the new league year. Though the 27-year-old has been able to sign with another NBA since the start of free agency earlier this month, he always appeared likely to head back to Europe to continue his career. Now that he's reached an agreement with the Italian powerhouse, Lundberg is unlikely to entertain a return to North America.... See More ... See Less

Suns' Gabriel Lundberg: Makes NBA debut
Lundberg finished with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist across four minutes Sunday in the Suns' 117-96 loss to the Thunder. Lundberg initially came to terms with the Suns on a two-way deal back in mid-March, but he wasn't cleared to immediately suit up for the team while he looked to faced several roadblocks in securing his visa and traveling from Russia to the United States. He finally joined the Suns for practice Tuesday and dressed for games Wednesday against the Warriors and Friday against the Warriors, but he went unused in those closely-contested matchups. With three key players in Jae Crowder, Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker all resting Sunday, however, Lundberg finally got the chance to make his NBA debut in garbage time. Since the Suns have already clinched the NBA's best record, Lundberg could see his role expand slightly in the final four games of the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Suns' Gabriel Lundberg: Not on injury report
Lundberg is not listed on the Suns' injury report ahead of Friday's game at Memphis. The Danish guard joined the team in mid-March after playing in the EuroLeague with CSKA Moscow. His availability was in limbo for a few games, but it looks as though he's now an eligible option off the bench for coach Monty Williams. Chances are, Lundberg won't see many opportunities on a deep Suns roster, though he could pick up some minutes down the stretch if Phoenix opts to rest multiple regulars during the final week of the regular season.... Gerald Bourguet@GeraldBourguet2M agoObviously facing a seriously depleted Nets team helps, but this is one of those games where just having Kevin Durant and Devin Booker is enough. Kinda crazy to realize a win tonight would move the Suns to 20-8 this season (59-win pace) when Book/KD are both playing
