  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Scores just two points

Prince totaled two points (1-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and two assists across 24 minutes during Sunday's 105-104 win over the Rockets. Prince certainly wasn't shy with 11 shot attempts, so the Lakers are still giving him the green light. Prince's workload in November has been solid with 30.1 minutes per game in eight contests, but he's averaging just 7.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 three-pointers.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Scores in double figures

Prince closed with 11 points (5-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal over 33 minutes during Sunday's 116-110 win over Portland. With Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) unavailable, Prince has started all eight of his appearances this season. However, Prince has scored in double figures just three times and is averaging meager production elsewhere (1.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.1 steals-plus-blocks in 30.4 minutes per game). With Vanderbilt due to be back in a few weeks, Prince could lose all streaming appeal.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Will start Monday

Prince (knee) is healthy and will start Monday's game against Miami, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Prince returns to the starting lineup after a two-game absence, sending Cam Reddish back to the bench. Prince will provide a superior injection of shooting to the Lakers' lineup.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Clear of injury report

Prince (knee) isn't listed on the injury report for Monday's game at Miami, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports. Prince sat out the past two games with knee soreness but will return to the court for Monday's contest. The 29-year-old is averaging 10.5 points and 1.5 rebounds in 29.0 minutes through four games this season.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Officially ruled out

Prince (knee) is out for Saturday's game versus the Magic, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Prince will miss his second straight game Saturday after being downgraded from questionable to out due to left knee soreness. Cam Reddish will likely start again with Rui Hachimura (concussion) and Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) also out. Prince's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Miami.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Questionable for Saturday

Prince (knee) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Magic, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Prince experienced knee discomfort during warmups ahead of Wednesday's contest against the Clippers and was held out as a precaution. It sounds like the issue is minor, but Prince may miss another game just to be safe. Cam Reddish entered the starting lineup in Prince's stead Wednesday and played 37 minutes, so he would presumably be the primary beneficiary if Prince is sidelined again.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Absence deemed precautionary

Head coach Darvin Ham said that Prince was held out of Wednesday's 130-125 overtime win over the Clippers for precautionary purposes due to a sore left knee, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports. Prince didn't appear on the Lakers' injury report leading up to the game but was scratched from the starting lineup after experiencing knee soreness during pregame warmups. Cam Reddish entered the starting five in Prince's stead and played 37 minutes while Ham ran a tight eight-man rotation. Given Ham's comments, Prince's knee injury doesn't seem to a major concern, and the 29-year-old should have a good chance at being available for the Lakers' next game Saturday at Orlando.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Officially ruled out

Prince (knee) won't play during Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports. Prince was removed from the starting lineup after experiencing knee soreness but wasn't given an official designation. Prince didn't appear in the first half of the game and now has been labeled as out. His next chance to play will come Saturday at Orlando.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Not starting after tweaking knee

Prince experienced knee discomfort during warmups and won't start Wednesday against the Clippers, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Cam Reddish will take his place. Though Prince hasn't been ruled out for the contest, it appears he'll be limited by the knee injury. If he ends up missing altogether, expect Reddish, Max Christie and Christian Wood to see more action.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Vast improvement in loss

Prince recorded 20 points (7-17 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one block across 41 minutes during Sunday's 132-127 overtime loss to the Kings. After laying a goose egg in the last game, Prince bounced back with a very nice total. The Lakers desperately need an answer at the four while Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) is out, and if Prince can deliver lines like this more consistently, the team will be on track to improve on its 1-2 record.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Held scoreless in victory

Prince recorded zero points (0-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one steal in 18 minutes during Thursday's 100-95 win over the Suns. Prince made a second straight start in place of the injured Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) but struggled to get anything going in the win. A popular waiver-wire pickup after pouring in 18 points on 6-for-8 shooting from the field in the Lakers' season-opening loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday, Prince took a big step back Thursday and is likely to find himself dropped in many leagues as a result. The 29-year-old may remain on the top unit while Vanderbilt remains without a clear target date for a return, but expect Prince's stat lines to be highly volatile, making him tough to trust outside of deeper formats.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Will start in season opener

Lakers coach Darvin Ham said Saturday that Prince will start at small forward during Tuesday's regular-season opener against the Nuggets, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Prince starting in the season opener doesn't necessarily mean he will keep that role throughout the season, as Jarred Vanderbilt is dealing with a heel injury. Regardless, Prince will start alongside LeBron James at the forward position against Denver.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Leads team in scoring Friday

Prince posted 17 points (5-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals over 20 minutes Friday in a preseason loss to Golden State. Prince played the second-fewest minutes among Lakers starters but still managed to lead the team in scoring on the strength of efficient shooting from both the field and the charity stripe. Following a quiet effort in Los Angeles' exhibition opener last weekend, Prince has looked great in his subsequent three contests, averaging 14.3 points on 68.2 percent shooting from the floor. Prince has started each of those three contests and is making a strong case to win the battle between himself, Rui Hachimura and Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) for a spot in the starting unit come the regular season.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Plays well in start

Prince recorded 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3PT), one rebound and one assist in 20 minutes during Monday's 129-126 preseason win over the Nets. Prince was given the nod in the starting lineup, while Rui Hachimura was used off the bench and Jarred Vanderbilt was inactive. These three players are vying for the final spot in the starting lineup alongside D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James and Anthony Davis, so credit to Prince for making a strong case.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Enters starting five

Prince is starting Monday's preseason game against the Nets, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Prince will continue his battle for a starting role Monday night and could put himself ahead of the pack with a solid showing. The veteran forward is competing with Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) and Rui Hachimura for the final starting spot alongside D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Competing for starting spot

Prince is competing with Jarred Vanderbilt and Rui Hachimura for the Lakers' final starting spot, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Prince has been a solid reserve in recent years but hasn't been a full-time starter since 2019-20 when he averaged 12.1 points and 6.0 rebounds across 64 appearances (61 starts) for the Nets. The veteran forward is an above-average defender and three-point shooter, making him an ideal fit next to Anthony Davis and LeBron James. However, Hachmiura has a higher offensive upside, while Vanderbilt has a higher defensive upside, so Prince may fit best in a sixth-man role.

  • Lakers' Taurean Prince: Inks one-year deal with LAL

Prince and the Lakers agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Lakers on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Prince was a solid reserve for Minnesota last year, averaging 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 22.1 minutes across 54 appearances (four starts). The versatile forward fits the style of play the Lakers were playing during their postseason run, so it appears like a solid fit. However, Prince will have difficulty playing enough minutes to be fantasy relevant if Los Angeles finds a way to retain Rui Hachimura.

  • Taurean Prince: Set to hit free agency

The Timberwolves declined to pick up Prince's $7.4 million team option for the 2023-24 season Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Prince will become an unrestricted free agent this summer after spending the last two seasons with Minnesota. The 29-year-old forward averaged 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 22.1 minutes across 54 games. Prince is a proven three-and-D wing who provides positional versatility.

  • Timberwolves' Taurean Prince: Back to bench

Prince will come off the bench in Game 3 against the Nuggets on Friday, according to Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com. Nickeil Alexander-Walker will replace Prince in the starting five. Alexander-Walker had a lot of success in Game 1 with the starting group, and he could be tasked with slowing down Jamal Murray.

  • Timberwolves' Taurean Prince: Starting Game 2

Prince will enter the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nuggets, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports. Prince will make his first playoff start since 2016-2017 on Wednesday, taking over the small forward position typically filled by Jaden McDaniels (hand) after Nickeil Alexander-Walker filled the starting slot in Game 1. In four starts this season, Prince averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 28.3 minutes. However, those stats are skewed by a 35-point outburst on March 20 when he shot 12-of-13 from the field and 8-of-8 from beyond the arc.
