Russell logged 11 points (5-17 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, 11 assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Friday's 111-110 loss to Dallas. Russell led the Lakers in assists and didn't commit any turnovers, but he had a hard time getting his shot to go down. He made only five of 17 field-goal attempts for the second straight game, and he could not knock down any of his attempts from beyond the arc Friday. After going 23-for-36 (63.9 percent) from the field and averaging 30.5 points in his first two contests back from a six-game absence due to an ankle injury, Russell has averaged 15.3 points and shot 30.6 percent from the field in his subsequent three appearances.... Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Struggles from field in win
Russell finished with 17 points (5-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals over 33 minutes during Tuesday's 123-108 win over New Orleans. Russell posted a decent stat line and stuffed the stat sheet, but the fact that he needed 15 shots to score 17 points can't be overlooked. The point guard has struggled with injuries since joining Los Angeles, but he's been productive when available and has scored at least 15 points in all but one of his seven outings following the trade. He's averaging 18.9 points, 5.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game since changing teams.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Blows up with 33 points
Russell accumulated 33 points (13-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight assists, five rebounds and one block across 35 minutes during Sunday's 112-108 loss to the Knicks. Russell drilled six threes on the way to his best scoring total of the season, and his best output since joining the Lakers ahead of the trade deadline. Unfortunately for Russell and the Lakers, he wasn't helped much by the supporting cast, and his big effort alone couldn't help push Los Angeles back to .500 on the season. With LeBron James (foot) likely sidelined until late March and possibly into April, fantasy managers should expect more dynamic outings from Russell as the Lakers look to secure a playoff spot.... Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Shines in return from injury
Russell (ankle) produced 28 points (10-17 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine assists, five rebounds and one steal across 31 minutes during Friday's 122-112 win over the Raptors. Russell sat out each of Los Angeles' previous six games due to a sprained right ankle, but he didn't show any signs of rust or restrictions in his return to the court. The veteran point guard led the Lakers with 28 points and nine assists over 31 minutes, and he shot efficiently with a 5-for-8 mark from deep. Russell was especially effective when it mattered most, scoring 16 points and making all four of his attempts from three-point range in the final period. With LeBron James (foot) still weeks away from a return. Russell will be looked at to help Anthony Davis carry a large portion of the offensive load as the surging Lakers attempt to continue their push up the Western Conference standings.... See More ... Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Gets green light
Russell (ankle) has officially been declared available for Friday's game against the Raptors, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Russell has been trending in this direction to the point he drew a probable designation heading into Friday's game. The guard is returning from a six-game absence, thus the team could opt to ease him back into the swing of things.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Officially probable Friday
Russell officially holds a probable designation for Friday's game versus the Raptors, Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Coach Darvin Ham indicated earlier in the day Thursday that Russell will make his return to the floor and will start Friday, so the probable designation seems more like a formality than anything else. Barring a setback in the next 24 hours, look for Russell to reclaim his spot as the starting point guard, moving Dennis Schroder back to a reserve role.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Set to start against Toronto
Coach Darvin Ham said Thursday that Russell (ankle) will be available for Friday's game versus the Raptors and will return to the starting lineup, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Russell returned to practice Thursday after missing the previous six games with a right ankle sprain. He will replace Dennis Schroder in the starting lineup against Toronto. Russell figures to offer solid fantasy value, especially with LeBron James (foot) out.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Eyeing Friday return
Head coach Darvin Ham said after Tuesday's 112-103 win over the Grizzlies that Russell (ankle) is targeting a return to the lineup Friday versus the Raptors, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Russell has missed the last six games due to a right ankle sprain, but if all goes well in practices Wednesday and/or Thursday, he'll likely get the green light to suit up Friday. He had averaged 17.3 points, 5.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 30.3 minutes across his first three games with the Lakers before suffering the injury Feb. 23 against the Warriors. If cleared to play Friday, Russell will likely replace either Dennis Schroder or Malik Beasley in the starting five, and he should have ample opportunity to improve his production while LeBron James (foot) is out for the foreseeable future.... Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Ruled out Tuesday
Russell (ankle) will not play Tuesday against the Grizzlies, according toRyan Ward of LakersNation.com. Russell was previously upgraded to a game-time decision and was spotted going through warmups, but he'll miss his sixth straight game Tuesday evening. His next chance to play will be March 10 against the Raptors. Dennis Schroder will hold down the fort at point guard once again Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Questionable Tuesday
Russell (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies, Mike Bresnahan of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Russell has missed the past five games after suffering an ankle sprain, but it looks like there's a chance he could return to the floor Tuesday evening. If he is able to get back out there, Dennis Schroder would be a candidate to head back to the second unit.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Won't play Sunday
Russell (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Warriors, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports. Russell has been dealing with a sprained right ankle, and Sunday will be his fifth straight absence due to the injury. The Lakers will turn to Dennis Schroder to handle a bigger playmaking role, while Austin Reaves, Lonnie Walker and Troy Brown should see expanded roles as well. Russell's next chance to play comes Tuesday against the Grizzlies.... See More ... See Less -

Russell's next chance to play comes Sunday against Golden State.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Ruled out Wednesday
Russell (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. As expected, Russell will miss a third straight game due to a right ankle sprain. LeBron James (foot) and Anthony Davis (foot) are also out, so more playmaking opportunities should be available for Dennis Schroder, Austin Reaves, Lonnie Walker and Rui Hachimura. Russell's next chance to suit up will come Friday against Minnesota.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Out Tuesday, doubtful Wednesday
Russell (ankle) is out Tuesday against the Grizzlies and is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Thunder, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Russell's continued absence makes more of an impact after we learned that LeBron James (foot) will be sidelined for multiple weeks. For as long as Russell is out, Dennis Schroder should continue starting, and Austin Reaves should see a more significant role as well.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Unlikely to play Tuesday
Russell (ankle) is doubtful for Tuesday's matchup against the Grizzlies, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Russell will likely miss a second straight contest after suffering a right ankle sprain during the first game back following the All-Star break. Dennis Schroder figures to remain in the starting lineup if Russell is indeed ruled out.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Officially out
Russell (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup versus the Mavericks, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Russell went through a light walkthrough before the contest, but as expected, he'll miss at least one contest due to an ankle injury he suffered in Thursday's win over Golden State. His next chance to suit up arrives Tuesday in Memphis. In his absence, Dennis Schroder will slide back into the starting lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Officially listed as doubtful
Russell (ankle) is officially listed as doubtful to play Sunday against the Mavericks, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports. Russell left the Lakers' win over Golden State on Thursday after stepping on Donte DiVincenzo's foot. He didn't return to the contest, and head coach Darvin Ham was always skeptical of Russell's chances of featuring against Dallas. If he's ruled out for Sunday, which seems to be the most likely scenario as things stand now, then Dennis Schroder would likely slide into the starting lineup, while Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker would be candidates for increased roles off the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Unlikely to play Sunday
Head coach Darvin Ham said Friday he doubts Russell (ankle) plays Sunday in Dallas, and the point guard is day-to-day moving forward, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Russell left the Lakers' win over Golden State on Thursday after stepping on Donte DiVincenzo's foot and didn't return to the contest. X-rays came back negative, so it appears he's avoided a significant injury, though he'll likely sit out at least one contest as a precaution. If that's the case, Dennis Schroder would likely slide into the starting lineup, while Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker would be candidates for increased roles off the bench.... See More ... Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Suffers ankle sprain
Russell suffered an ankle sprain against Golden State on Thursday and is considered day-to-day, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports. Russell picked up a right ankle sprain after he turned his ankle stepping on an opposing player's foot. The X-rays on Russell's ankle came back negative, so he may have dodged a bullet. The Lakers have two days off before they play the Mavericks on Sunday, and Russell's status is uncertain for that contest at the moment.... See More ... See Less -

Russell (ankle) won't return to Thursday's contest against the Warriors, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Russell picked up a right ankle sprain in the first half of Thursday's matchup with Golden State.
