Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Ruled out for Sunday
Russell (leg) will not play Sunday against the Jazz, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports.
Russell will miss his fourth game in a row Sunday and continues to be ruled out a day in advance of games. In the meantime, guys like Keon Johnson, Tyrese Martin and Reece Beekman will get more opportunities in Russell's absence.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Remains out for Friday
Russell (shin) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nuggets, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Russell will miss his third consecutive contest due to a right shin contusion, and his next chance to suit up will come Sunday against Utah. With the veteran point guard sidelined, Keon Johnson and Tyrese Martin should continue to start in the club's backcourt, with Reece Beekman likely seeing a bump in minutes off the bench.

Russell (shin) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Russell will miss a second straight game due to a shin contusion. The veteran guard has only played in three games with the Nets since being traded to Brooklyn by the Lakers. Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Won't go Monday
Russell (shin) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports
Russell will miss Monday's contest after he sustained a right shin contusion during Saturday's loss to Philadelphia. On the bright side, the veteran guard was able to put up shots during warmups Monday, which bodes well for his status in Wednesday's matchup versus Detroit. With Russell and Ben Simmons (back) sidelined, Reece Beekman, Tosan Evbuomwan and Ziaire Williams are candidates for a significant bump in minutes.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Iffy for Monday vs. Indiana
Russell (shin) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Pacers, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Russell was forced to leave during Saturday's 123-94 loss to the 76ers due to a right shin contusion, finishing with five points, four assists, one rebound and two steals over 14 minutes. The Nets will already be without a number of key players Monday --including Cam Thomas (hamstring), Bojan Bogdanovic (foot) and Cameron Johnson (ankle) -- and Russell's absence would mean more playing time for Keon Johnson, Reece Beekman and Ziaire Williams.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Exits with shin injury
Russell will not return to Saturday's game versus the 76ers with a right shin contusion, Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints.com reports. He finished with five points (1-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four assists, two steals and one rebound across 14 minutes.
The Nets were already without seven players due to injury Saturday, and Russell's early exit only further complicates matters. Given that the 76ers were sitting on a 17-point lead coming out of halftime, the lopsided score may have contributed to the Nets' decision to hold Russell out for the final two quarters. Tyrese Martin and Reece Beekman could see additional minutes in the backcourt during the second half.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Hands out 12 assists as starter
Russell provided 11 points (3-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds, 12 assists and two steals across 28 minutes during Thursday's 113-110 win over Milwaukee.
Russell didn't have a good shooting performance, and in a way, his numbers weren't as good as his 22-point, eight-assist effort off the bench in his Brooklyn debut against Toronto on Jan. 1. However, he salvaged the lack of scoring with an efficient playmaking performance. The 12 assists were his second-best mark of the season in that category. Expect Russell to remain in a prominent role going forward, even if he comes off the bench when Ben Simmons (back/rest) returns to action. However, Russell's long-term fit with the franchise remains cloudy.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Shines in team debut
Russell logged 22 points (9-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, two rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 130-113 loss to Toronto.
Russell hit the ground running, beginning his second stint with the Nets following a trade late last week. Despite coming off the bench, he wasted no time asserting himself on the offensive end, something he had not been able to do during his time with the Lakers. While it is unclear whether he will continue to come off the bench or move into the starting lineup, what is clear is that he is going to be far more active in his new role.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Coming off bench Wednesday
Russell isn't part of the Nets' starting lineup for Wednesday's game against Toronto, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Russell was traded from the Lakers to Brooklyn on Sunday and has been cleared to face the Raptors on Wednesday. Still, the Nets will opt to start Ben Simmons at the point guard slot, leaving Russell's role uncertain. Even though he's coming off the bench, expect Russell to see heavy minutes considering the Nets are down Cam Thomas (hamstring) and Ziaire Williams (knee).

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Expected to debut Wednesday
Russell (recently traded) isn't listed on the Nets' injury report for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, Meghan Triplett of YES Network reports.
Russell is officially cleared to suit up for the Nets for the first time since 2018-19. It's unclear how he'll fit with the current Nets roster, as Ben Simmons has taken over at point guard after the departure of Dennis Schroder, while Cam Thomas (hamstring) is nearing a return following a lengthy absence. Either way, Russell should have more usage in Brooklyn than he did sharing the court with Anthony Davis, LeBron James and Austin Reaves in Los Angeles.

Nets' D'Angelo Russell: Traded to Brooklyn
The Nets acquired Russell, forward Maxwell Lewis and second-round picks in 2027, 2030 and 2031 from the Lakers on Sunday in exchange for forward Dorian Finney-Smith and guard Shake Milton, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Russell's playing time and production had been sporadic for the Lakers since moving to a bench role at the beginning of November, and it was clear the team was seeking out defensive upgrades while viewing the veteran point guard as a movable piece. The Lakers will bring aboard Finney-Smith to achieve that goal, while Russell makes his return to Brooklyn, where he had spent the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. It's unclear how he'll fit with the current Nets roster, as Ben Simmons has taken over at point guard after the departure of Dennis Schroder, while Cam Thomas (hamstring) is nearing a return following a lengthy absence. Whether he starts alongside Simmons in the backcourt, replaces him as the Nets' starting point guard or is used as a sixth man, Russell's fantasy outlook should improve with the move to Brooklyn. He could make his Nets debut as soon as Wednesday in Toronto.

Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Likely to suit up Saturday
Russell (thumb) participated in Friday's practice and is probable for Saturday's matchup against the Kings, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.
Russell sustained the sprained left thumb during Monday's loss to Detroit, and he was sidelined for Wednesday's win over the Warriors. However, the probable tag suggests that the 28-year-old is nearing a return to game action. Over his last five outings, Russell has averaged 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists across 21.2 minutes per contest.

Russell (thumb) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Warriors, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.
Russell will miss at least one game after suffering a left thumb sprain during Monday's loss to Detroit. In Russell's absence, Max Christie, Gabe Vincent and Dalton Knecht are candidates for increased roles. Russell's next chance to suit up will come Saturday against the Kings.

Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Exits game early Monday
Coach JJ Redick said postgame that Russell went back to the locker room to have his hand checked out during the fourth quarter of Monday's 117-114 loss to Detroit, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports. He finished with five points (1-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and five assists across 16 minutes.
Russell subbed out of the game with 9:54 remaining and did not return while being checked out by the training staff. Redick mentioned a potential thumb injury, though the 28-year-old will likely undergo further testing ahead of Wednesday's matchup against the Warriors.

Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Shines off bench in victory
Russell ended with 20 points (7-13 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes during Saturday's 103-99 victory over the Kings.
Russell stepped up and provided a spark off the Lakers bench in Saturday's contest, leading all bench players in scoring, assists and rebounds while finishing as one of two players with 20 or more points. Russell has surpassed the 20-point mark in three outings this season, adding at least five assists in all three of those contests. He has now recorded at least 15 points in three of his last five appearances, including in two straight outings.
