Top Vasilije Micic News

  • Vasilije Micic: Let go by Milwaukee

Micic was waived by the Bucks on Monday, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.

The 31-year-old was traded to the Bucks in exchange for Pat Connaughton and two second-round picks, though Milwaukee waived Micic and agreed to a contract buyout. He gave back $6.1 million, with the Bucks stretching the remaining $2 million on his contract over the next three seasons. The guard is now expected to explore other opportunities in both Europe and the NBA. He averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game across 41 regular-season appearances (16 starts) between the Hornets and Suns in 2024-25.

  • Bucks' Vasilije Micic: Traded to Milwaukee

The Hornets traded Micic to the Bucks on Tuesday in exchange for Pat Connaughton, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.

The Hornets also received two second-round picks in this deal. Micic was traded to Charlotte during the 2025 NBA Draft, and now he has been sent to Milwaukee to provide the team with additional depth at point guard. It remains to be seen if he will be in the team's plans, however. The 31-year-old guard averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game across 41 regular-season appearances in 2024-25 (36 with Charlotte, five with Phoenix).

  • Hornets' Vasilije Micic: Sent back to Charlotte

The Hornets acquired Micic, the No. 29 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and a 2029 first-round pick from the Suns on Wednesday in exchange for center Mark Williams, Bobby Marks of ESPN.com reports.

Micic returns to Charlotte after spending the first half of the 2024-25 campaign with the club before being sent to Phoenix ahead of the deadline. The 31-year-old guard averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game across 41 appearances (36 with Charlotte, five with Phoenix). He's likely being included in Wednesday's trade strictly for salary-matching purposes, as Phoenix picked up his $8.1 million team option for 2025-26 before dealing him to Charlotte, according to Marks. Micic will add depth to the Charlotte backcourt, but he'll likely have difficulty cracking the rotation when the Hornets are at full strength.

  • Suns' Vasilije Micic: Won't play Sunday

Micic (coach's decision) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Kings, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.

Micic will miss a fifth straight game for the Suns on Sunday. The 30-year-old guard played in 41 games at the NBA level this season, averaging 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, shooting 34.8 percent from the floor and 36.0 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Suns' Vasilije Micic: Available for Monday

Micic (illness) is off the injury report for Monday's game against the Bucks.

  • Suns' Vasilije Micic: Sits out with illness

Micic was ruled out ahead of Friday's 123-112 win over the Cavaliers due to an illness.

  • Suns' Vasilije Micic: Makes team debut

Micic played the final 1:35 of Sunday's 116-98 loss to the Timberwolves and recorded no statistics during his time on the court.

Micic saw action for the first time since Feb. 3, after he missed his final game as a member of the Hornets on Feb. 5 due to a left ankle injury before being traded to the Suns a day later. The 31-year-old guard has been healthy for nearly a month, but since he hasn't been a member of the Phoenix rotation, it wasn't until the tail end of a blowout Sunday that he got the chance to make his team debut. Given that Phoenix has ample guard depth and everybody except Cody Martin (sports hernia) healthy at the moment, Micic may be in store for few opportunities over the final six weeks of the season.

Acquired from the Hornets on Thursday, Micic may have to wait a little longer to make his Suns debut while he contends with the ankle injury. The 31-year-old should provide valuable depth in the backcourt, though he's uncertain to become a regular member of the rotation. In his 36 appearances (16 starts) with Charlotte this season, Micic shot 34.8 percent from the field and averaged 7.5 points, 3.5 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers in 21.2 minutes.
