  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Hopeful for regular season return

Coach Nick Nurse said Wednesday that Embiid (knee) has a "very good" chance of playing before the end of the regular season, Tim Bontemps of ESPN.com reports.

Embiid hasn't played since Jan. 30 after undergoing left knee surgery. While the superstar center continues to work out on the court and is hopeful to play before the playoffs, there is no concrete timetable for his return. Mo Bamba and Paul Reed should continue to receive increased playing time in Embiid's absence.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Not with team for road trip

Embiid (knee) won't join the 76ers during their upcoming four-game road trip, which starts Wednesday in Phoenix and ends Monday in Sacramento, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Embiid, who underwent surgery Feb. 6 to address a left meniscus injury, continues to be limited to non-contact, walkthrough workouts and hopes to start ramping up for game action in April. It's not an unexpected development, as the reigning MVP was expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks following the procedure. While Embiid doesn't have an exact return date, Philadelphia seems to be preparing to get him back for a potential playoff run. The 76ers currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference standings, but they're one loss away from falling into the Play-In Tournament.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Limited at practice, no timetable

Coach Nick Nurse said Embiid (knee) participated in parts of the 76ers' non-contact practice Sunday, but the center remains without a timetable for a return, Lauren Rosen of the 76ers' official site reports.

Embiid continues to progress in his rehab from Feb. 6 surgery to address a left meniscus injury, and his ability to take part in basketball activities would seem to represent a major step forward in his recovery. However, the big man will likely miss several more games, as he'll presumably need to regain his conditioning after being cleared for contact work. The Sixers have fallen into the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament during Embiid's absence, and they'll likely remain there if he doesn't return to game action soon.

  • 76ers' Joel Embiid: Ramping up, still no timetable

Katie George of ESPN reported during Philadelphia's matchup against the Mavericks on Sunday that Embiid (knee) has started on-court workouts and is back to 100 percent in the weight room.

Embiid underwent a procedure on his left meniscus Feb. 6 and is slated to be evaluated soon. Despite the positive update, the reigning MVP is presumably still limited to solo shooting drills and would likely need time to regain his conditioning after being cleared for full contact, so his potential return is probably still at least a few weeks away. However, more clarity on Embiid's return timetable should be available when the team releases an official update in the next week.
