MRI reveals bone bruise, contusion in left hand for Knicks G Raymond Felton

Knicks PG Raymond Felton suffered a bone bruise and a regular old contusion in his left hand Sunday in the Knicks' 106-99 victory over the Suns.

Knicks PG Raymond Felton suffered a bone bruise and a regular old contusion in his left hand Sunday in the Knicks' 106-99 victory over the Suns. An MRI confrimed the diagnosis later. From ESPN: 

"It's swollen right now," Felton said. "It's a lot of pain, but we'll see what happens."

Felton said, if it were up to him, he'd play in the Knicks' next game on Wednesday against the Charlotte Bobcats. Felton said he could play with a bandage on his hand, if necessary.

The Knicks remain without secondary point guard and acting shooting guard Jason Kidd because of back soreness. Kidd and Felton have provided the bedrock of the surprisingly fluid ball movement for the Knicks, and if they were to be without Felton, the problem would be exacerbated. Pablo Prigioni has played well in reserve minutes, but we haven't seen him try to carry the load for the Knicks' pick-and-roll heavy offense. 

Luckily there was no fracture or tear, however, which is good news, and if Felton's not back for Wednesday's game against Charlotte, he should be back shortly after. We'll keep you updated on Felton.
