Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Clears waivers
The Dodgers outrighted Lipcius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday after he cleared waivers.
Lipcius will remain in the Dodgers organization, but he'll face a tougher path to seeing action with the big club now that he's no longer a member of the 40-man roster. He posted a .742 OPS over 38 plate appearances with the Tigers late in the 2023 season, but after being traded to the Dodgers in March, Lipcius was unable to make enough of an impression in spring training to earn a spot on the club's season-opening roster.

Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Designated for assignment
The Dodgers designated Lipcius for assignment Saturday, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports.
He's the 40-man roster casualty as the Dodgers freed up a spot for Daniel Hudson. It's the second time in a little over two weeks that Lipcius has been designated for assignment, as the Tigers flipped him to the Dodgers in a trade shortly after removing him from their 40-man roster.

Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Sent to Oklahoma City
Lipcius was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.
Lipcius was acquired by the Dodgers on Monday, and he appeared in two Cactus League games with the team before being sent down, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. The infielder will now look to perform well while in Triple-A in an attempt to get called up to the majors at some point this summer.

Lipcius will be squeezed off the 40-man roster in order to make room for Buddy Kennedy, who was claimed off waivers from St. Louis on Thursday. Lipcius spent most of last season in Triple-A Toledo, slashing .272/.363/.419 across 360 plate appearances. He also managed 10 hits in 13 games upon reaching the majors and could receive a bit of attention from other clubs while on the waiver wire.

Lipcius went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.
Lipcius connected in the first inning against Chicago starter Mike Clevinger, giving him his first home run at the MLB level in his second game after hitting 11 long balls for Triple-A Toledo this season across 97 games. The 25-year-old looks mostly like a depth option for the Tigers at this point, though they could give him more playing time down the stretch as they turn their focus to 2024.
