  • Mets' A.J. Ewing: Elevated to Triple-A

The Mets promoted Ewing from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. One of the top-ranked prospects in the organization, Ewing has continued running wild at Double-A so far this season while also further refining his plate discipline. After ranking fourth in the minors with 70 steals across three stops in 2025, Ewing went 12-for-13 on stolen-base attempts through 18 games with Binghamton this season. Perhaps more significantly, Ewing raised his walk rate from 5.5 percent over 28 games at Binghamton last season to 21.2 percent in 2026, which helped the 21-year-old to maintain a .349/.481/.571 slash line across 81 plate appearances. Ewing will now receive a stiffer test in the International League, but if he continues to make contact and draw walks at steady clips during his time at Syracuse, he could receive his first big-league call-up at some point in the second half of the season.

  • Mets' A.J. Ewing: More walks than Ks at Double-A

Ewing is hitting .385 with zero home runs, four steals and a 5:8 K:BB in seven games for Double-A Binghamton. The speedy center fielder logged a 133 wRC+ in 28 games at Double-A to close 2025, and he's got a 197 wRC+ early on in a return trip to the Eastern League. While Ewing's defense in center field continues to improve, he has seen two starts at second base this year, so he hasn't completely moved off the dirt. Ewing doesn't have the same slap-hitter tendencies as many speedsters, as he had a 40.3 percent groundball rate and 40.8 percent pull rate in 2025, but his groundball rate has spiked to 57.1 percent in the early going this year.

  • Mets' A.J. Ewing: Bumped up to Double-A

The Mets promoted Ewing from High-A Brooklyn to Double-A Binghamton on Sunday, Pat Ragazzo of SI.com reports. Ewing earned the promotion after slashing .288/.387/.388 with two home runs and 44 stolen bases over 78 games with Brooklyn this season. The 21-year-old saw most of his action in center field with Brooklyn, but he also made starts in the corner outfield and at second base.
